We had seen this restaurant was highly rated, and wanting to sample traditional Swedish cuisine rather than the pizza and burgers available elsewhere we were definitely not disappointed on our visit. It's recommended that you book if you wish to sit inside ( all blonde...More

First class service in a smart and clean restaurant in the Gamla Stan district of the city that provides excellent service based around traditional Swedish cuisine.

We visited here for dinner on a warm evening. The place was busy and booking is recommended. It delivers traditional Swedish dishes with a few modern twists. Its mixed clientele of locals and visitors, young and not so young, suggests they have got it right....More

This restaurant provided a treat for our last night in Stockholm, placing the skate for a great date! The meatballs were so succulent, and accompanied by the lax starter, meant we felt we were really getting the Swedish experience. The prices are reasonable given how...More

Just from the beggining everything was great. When I booked the table they send me quickly a text message with the information of the booking. Then, we arrived to the place and they received us really quickly and nicely. The food was perfectly served with...More

We entered 'Tradition' as "underdressed" citytrippers ... feeling somewhat awkward, but the restaurant was one of the planned culinary experiences, so what the heck; Despite of this, we were welcomed very very kindly and were offered a nice seat. Since the restaurant was posted as...More

We enjoyed our supper at Tradition. It is a nice place (modern, informal, busy). The meatballs were delicious. The puddings were poor, though. We had 3 different puddings and all were disappointing. So I would say skip dessert.

This was a recommendation from our concierge at our hotel. The restaurant is very quaint and the service was great. The food was excellent. We tried several things from the menu. The swedish meatballs are must!

We found this lovely restaurant in the busy streets of old Stockholm. What an oasis of calm! A lovely relaxing Scandinavian feel was supported by traditional Swedish food. Service was attentive, the drinks list carefully chosen and the ambiance was just right. Well worth the...More

Every plate and surrounding items, bread to dessert and everything in between, was delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is attentive but not overbearing. The price was reasonable considering the quality of the food and taking into account that Stockholm is expensive to...More

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home
to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central
island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small
island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous
Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit
touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting:
take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and
through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)

Here at Tradition we offer you food from the Swedish cuisine as it was originally intended: Featured, uncomplicated high quality ingredients that are prepared with knowledge and care.

The three restaurants all have their own unique menus selected by season and what we think is best at the time in that particular district.
