If we did not have good friends in Gothenburg, we'd stay here. A fabulous tall ship, the largest built in scandinavia and launched in 1906, converted into a hotel in the city centre and close to all the ferry connections. We only called in for a drink so cannot report on its quality as a hotel. All we can say... More

There was very little on line about this restaurant outside of Trip Advisor, but we went expecting to have lunch and were told it was closed for the season. Trip Advisor is requiring a rating so I put average despite not being able to visit the restaurant. The ship was beautiful. Sorry it didn't work out.

Just had a beer and a rosé wine which was not expensive if you also look at the space and the nice view you have on this beautiful ship. It was a nice sunny day so it was enjoyable to have a drink on the water.

A simple menu of fresh steaks or seafood, the chef grills the entrees on the deck near the tables and brings it over himself. Served with traditional Swedish salads and breads with limitless refills. Be sure to save room for the Swedish national dessert...a melt-in-your-mouth concoction of ice cream, strawberries, chocolate sauce, and meringues.

We had lunch there it was ok but nothing special. I had mussels that was not bad.. The menu is very small, and nothing for kids. Location is great, old boat. If your in town go once but dont expect a lot.

I went to this boat/restaurant with a workk group. Once you board the ship ( and get past the serious list) you notice that the dining room is filled with similair groups. I suspect that work or tourist groups are their bread and butter. Once we were seated it took several minutes to get water and longer to get wine(... More

Went there for lunch with my family. There is no kids menu, food was OK for the adults. Kids were not too happy. For us the food was good, but nothing spectacular. Coffee at lunch is absolutely not up to snuff. My advice is to skip that and look for a real coffee shop

My husband and I arrived in Göteborg on Good Friday before Easter and didn't know if we would find any restaurants open. Lucky us! The Viking was only a few blocks from our hotel (Hotel Royal) and was open until 22:00! We didn't need a reservation; there was only one other occupied table in the restaurant that seated close to...
