Really tasty food and good service. This restaurant is located in a mall in Kamppi (5th floor). Views would be great, if you get a table by the windows - we didn't, so the surroundings were not that good. But for the food, I highly recommend this place!

Had lunch for three in this quite hyped restaurant with good city views in Helsinki's top-notch food court in the centrally located Kamppi mall. You order and pay at the cashier's desk before you get seated. The cashier first ignored us. She just stood there behind the bar looking another way and I had to firmly call for her attention.... Absolute killer for the price, but the quality varies between dishes. My friends teriyaki-sauce was very bland while mine was excellent, and next time mine wasn't as punchy as before either. Still a great bang for the buck at lunchtime, 14 euros for the teriyaki salmon is a steal.

Good food, strange seating system. 2 of us arrived early and got a table, the other 2 arrived 15 minutes later and they had to wait in line for almost 30 minutes (because you have to order at the checkout), altough we had saved 2 seats for them at our table. The other ones in the line were waiting for... More

We ordered several dishes with friends and my recommendation for perfect dinner would be: for starters OKONOMIYAKI, main SALMON TERIYAKI and dessert HOKU’s chocolate chip & macadamia cookie with vanilla ice cream. I drank one bier and cappuccino and the total price for the evening was around 50€. Service was friendly and prompt. Perfect.

Big mall in Helsinki opened a separate section for restaurants and cafes. A level or two higher quality and style than usual mall food courts. Hoku is one the restaurants. Lunch time was busy and que varied from 5-15 minutes. At lunch time food was average, no highlights. It was great to notice that portions were still nicely composed despite... More

We had a great lunch in Hoku! The place was very full, and it seems to be that way especially on the weekends. We were slightly confused weather the restaurant is Japanese or Hawaiian.. to be honest I still have no idea, but never the less we really enjoyed the food! It was tasty and the portions were huge! Very... More

A very nice place for lunch in the Kamppi shopping centre. The place was full when we arrived but they took our order while we waited, which only took about five minutes. I had fried chicken and my friend had salmon, both tasted very good. You also have a nice view over Helsinki if you happen to get a table... More

This restaurant has a new location. Excellent views from the 8th floor and the most central location. Friendly but very, very slow service at the lunch time. It was also little bit cold to sit at the window table. Wakame salad with prawns (lunch menu)was very overpriced. There was also so much smell of the frying oil in the restaurant.

Description
HOKU is a casual restaurant located in the Helsinki Kamppi district started by Ryan Shibuya. Ryan was born and raised in Hawaii and wanted to share some of the great foods from back home. Nothing fancy, just good food in a casual environment.
