Went there twice for dinner! Very good food and efficient service! Friendly waitresses! Try the lobster and seafood soup! Excellent!

We had a nice meal here after a long day of travelling around northern Iceland. This was just what was required, good food without being fancy or pretentious, decent size portions and a decent variety in the selection, from local to more European dishes. We had starters and mains for around 10,000 ISK. Also, as we'd been out all day,... More

The restaurant offers mainly Icelandic cuisine, including whale. I ate there twice and thoroughly enjoyed the seafood dishes on offer with the white ale to top it off. The food was very good and I enjoyed the whole experience both times.

Not worth the money at all! The burger we ordered was awful and the pasta was worse than a quick fix at home!! I wouldn't waste my money there.

So, it's a winter late Sunday morning in Akureyri and you need some place to eat. Bautinn is probably that place. It's open every day, it's right in the center of town, it's got lots of good reviews on TripAdvisor, and prices are moderate (by Icelandic standards). At least, that's why we stopped in. Here's what we found. The room... More

We had dinner there and the food was good and the service was good. You could get soup, bread etc. (self serve) complementary with the main courses (brought to your table by the waiter/waitress). The steak was cooked as requested and was very tasty though seasoned a bit too much for my taste. The serves were generous. The locals frequent... More

We had an early dinner and the service was very slow even for Iceland standards. A soup and salad bar was $25 and thought the salad bar was full of options the greens were pretty limited. The homemade bread was great
