Food was average, i had the salad and soup buffet and wife had a pasta dish. They have a kids room that was great for all ages. Service was good and the ambiance was nothing special.

Bautinn is place with a long history in town and is well known for good burgers. This time I had chicken salad which was very tasteful and fresh.

Having read good reviews of Bautinn in the past, we decided to have dinner there. Tried the fish hash, lamb, lobster soup and also Atlantic Char. Perhaps the usual chef was on holidays; it's the off season. The food was universally salty, the fish hash wasn't as good as that from Akureyri Fish and Chips with too much potatoes and... More

Our meals where extremely unappealing, undercooked seabird, overcooked cold horse fillet, old salat, disgusting sauce and jam at the price of 5 star restaurant. Sad experience.

Family of four. Overpriced fish NOT fresh and pizza not tasty. Nicely located but sorry you don't get what you paying for.

Bautinn used to be a high scale restaurant but has lost his charm. In my opinion it lacks ambition both in food and service. Its interior is dated.

We ate supper on a Friday night. Place was busy but there was no problem finding a table for 2. There is a very expansive salad bar which one could make a meal of itself. Nice to see green vegetables in Iceland in winter. Our meals consisted of a chicken pasta dish and pasta with meat sauce. Perfectly cooked pasta... More

Fairly casual bistro style, with interesting things on the menu (whale and puffin!), but the best thing for me was the soup and salad bar...huge array of fresh salad items with soup and bread and reasonably priced. Also had lamb and the kids had fish and chips, all very fresh and generous serves. Good service and central location...a winner all... More

Oldest continuously run restaurant in Iceland. Started in 1971! It had a great salad bar, which was a welcome sight as you don't get a lot of veggies here in the winter. But, it's an island, it's winter and it's Iceland so didn't expect a lot of variety. It is in the heart of the city, an easy walk from... More
