We spent the day driving from Vik to Hofn with a tour of the blue ice caves in between. We asked our tour guide where to eat and he said Pakkhus was hands down the best option and that as a local he goes there. I had the special of the day--the Ling served with potatoes and spiralized beets in... More

This is a wonderful spot. An old barn converted into a restaurant. Both lobster dishes we had were wonderful as was the kefyr desert. The spot had nice harbor views and fantastic service.

Lovely restaurant, might be pricey, but the experience was well worth it. Attentive staff, even with a Christmas party going on downstairs. The meal was superb.

This is seriously good, local food. Well prepared and presented by exceptional staff - so local in fact, my langoustine came off the boat outside that morning - we could see it through the window! As you may have guessed, I had the langoustine bisque followed by the lamb and both were delicious and are highly recommended. A good selection... More

One of the best for me - The Best for my husband! When we visited, they only had the 3-course meal available, so we ordered that. The langoustine soup came with 2 slices of bread, and a generous dollop of butter. The soup was packed with flavour and is arguably the best soup I've ever tasted! Generous chunks of langoustine... Service started right from the door. Was greeted and welcomed, shown to our table which poses a great view out to the harbour. We had the langoustine in cream sauce, lobster pizza and a starter of duck and smoked lamb. The food was really fresh and the ambience of the restaurant was cozy and warm. A great place to dine... Just had one of the best meals in my life. in a rustic harbor restaurant serving authentic cuisine: lobster soup, lobster grilled tail and for dessert Volcanic skyer (the surprise of the night). Yes it's expensive, yes worthwhile!

After driving for 15 hours all over Iceland, we finally made it to our Hostel in Hofn late, cold, wet and HUNGRY. Our host at our Hostel recommended a few choices for us but made a emphasis on Pakkhus. We took her advice and never looked back. the environment was welcoming and warm. the food was delicious. the beer was... More

We Myvatn around 7am and drove to Hohn, almost 500km, with a puffin stop at Borgarfjordur eystri in eastern Iceland along the way. We eventually arrived in Hohn around 6pm. Tired and hungry we started looking for a restaurant. There were several by the docks, which looked good, but were expensive even by Iceland standards. One restaurant, Pakkhus, was busy,... More

I'll be honest, I don't think I like most Icelandic food...but the fresh seafood in Hofn was the best food we've eaten all year ANYWHERE. It's Iceland, so it's very expensive, but it was so good I would recommend you do what it takes to afford eating the day's catch of Langoustine lobster (their boat sits right outside of the... More
