Wanted to do dinner, but the wait was over an hour. Lunch the following day was much quieter. The staff is very friendly, the menu is very nice, but you come here for the langoustines, which are out of this world! A must in Hofn!

We had dinner with friends here and everything was delicious. We all had the cod entrees, and shared the volcano dessert. The atmosphere was great and it was nice having a harbor view upstairs as well. The staff was super friendly too. Parking is a...little tricky, but there was a free public lot across the street.More

Known for their langoustine dishes and the reputation is well deserved. We drove 3 hrs round trip and felt it was worth the commute. We had the langoustine soup, entree, and cream dish. Our fav was the langoustine cream entree. They have the most tender...langoustine we have ever eaten. Great flavor, good portions. Soup came with bread and both entrees came with potatoes and small salad. Total cost was about $130. They do not take reservations. Slow time is about 3-5. After 6 pm you will be waiting. Parking area is small.More

We ate lobster, local fish, and vegan terrine at the Pakkhus. Nice decor. It's packed, so either get there early or be prepared to wait downstairs in the bar area. They were out of sheep dung whiskey, which made us sad! We ordered an alternative...and the pour was insanely small. However, the atmosphere and our attentive server made up for the small pour. Probably the best service we had in Iceland.More

We got the feta appetizer, oven roasted langoustine, cream langoustine and liquorice creme brulee. Everything was delicious. The feta was divine, wrapped in pfillo dough and baked, it had so much flavor and was perfectly melted. The cream sauce was more like melted butter with...a splash of cream rather than a bechamel cream sauce. Both mains came with potatoes and salad. The creme brulee was delicious and the liquorice flavor was well balanced and not at all overpowering. I would definitely come back here again. Just beware it is an extremely popular spot so be prepared to wait. They have a large comfortable waiting area with a bar so even the wait was pleasantMore

The food and service was top notch. The salmon was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. My favourite meal during my 14 day visit.

The restaurant is very beautiful and the food is amazing. We ordered the lobster soup that was excellent. The salmon and the lamb was also very very good. Same for the volcano desert. The food quality is excellent but also the work of the cook!

What a find. Having read many great reviews we decided to give it a try and we weren’t disappointed. Friendly and welcoming staff and excellent food. I can recommend both the lobster and Langoustines.

A special dinner in August 22. Fresh local food very tasty and well presented. Very nice location in front of the sea and professional staff. To try!!!

We ordered the lamb, salmon, and the veggie pie, and everything was top notch. Place is expensive, but you don’t mind when the food is of this quality and the portions were good sized too. We also ordered 3 of their deserts - and presentation...and quality of those too were exceptional. Restaurant does get busy, so be prepared to wait if you come around 8.More

We drove 30 km back and forth from our hotel, and it was what we expected. The ambience is very good, the fish very tasty. After many icelandic restaurants where the taste of fish was covered by huge amounts of cream or other useless sauces...or ingredients, this was not the case.More
