This little hidden gem is a MUST Do after a long day of walking/hiking. Quick, delicious, and they always serve fresh bread!

Wow these guys really know what they do best. Small little place with huge pieces of fresh fish on skewers and delicious lobster soup. Keeping the menu simple and satisfying all customers, this is a must when you are looking for some simple but deliciously fresh food. Fish was cooked perfectly and the soup was to die for. We stopped in after going to the Blue Lagoon (and upon arriving in Reykjavik) at the suggestion of the owners of the guesthouse we were staying in. The food is simple, but well seasoned, fresh and delicious. The coffee is free and delicious as well. Stop by and grab a few skewers of fish.

Simple and easy...delicious food and a simple setup. Would recommend the red fish and lobster soup. Went whale watching and ate here.

Had the lobster soup and a grilled prawn skewer and a grill scallop skewer. The skewers were really fresh and grilled to perfection. The lobster soup was quite nice, however I had previously tried the soup at Icelandic Fish and Chips and thought their version was better. This version was quite watery and had a lot of celery in it.... More

You won't find fresher seafood! Our group indulged in the beautiful lobster soup and fish kebabs. Wonderful, healthy and tasty meal! Delicious and a must visit.

A tiny, no-frills restaurant with cramped seating on padded "barrels" at three long tables. However, everything is very fresh, and the lobster soup, which is what I was told the restaurant is known for, was delicious. Served with bread, it was very filling and quite reasonably priced. This is not the place to go for the experience of fine dining,... More

Stefán picked me up in the evening and we went looking for a dinner of whale meat. We were advised to try the Saegreifinn restaurant at the old harbour. A tin-roof shack with an unpretentious exterior, the restaurant’s door was locked and there were no customers inside. A short, old man, broad-shouldered, his rolled-up sleeves revealing muscular forearms, opened the... More

Excellent fish, very well seasoned and cooked. The minke whale is phenomenal. Honest, no-frills, delicious food. Definitely a must-try when in Reykjavik

You'll probably have better luck at lunch than in the evening here. Evenings are very crowded, but it is worth the wait. The lobster soup is delicious, and so are the fish kebabs... and the whale steaks are superb. Couldn't recommend this place more. And it has free WiFi too!
