We were in Iceland celebrating my 40th birthday, so we needed at least one fancy dinner here. When a "normal" meal can run you close to $30 US for something like a burger, you can expect to pay quite a bit more for something fancy. This was that, as we spent about 25,000 isk (about $250) for appetizers and entrees... More

Ate here with my wife just before we went on a northern lights boat tour in the old harbor. We had an excellent meal. The menu is based on different geographies and typical flavors of the area. I had the Ireland, which was a slow cooked arctic char and various beer poached items (along with a scallop and a flash... More

This restaurant is in the cellar of a building, it is pub like and whimsical. There are mismatched dishes, stone walls and wooden beams. The Around Iceland menu allows one to have several courses of Icelandic fare. The Around the World menu provides a many course feast of local fish and meat prepared with exotic herbs and spices to bring... More

We had an excellent meal with great service as a treat on our recent visit to Reykjavik. Superb sushi, lamb, miso cod and a wonderful chocolate and mint desert. Good wine list.

The fish soup was magical. If there wasn't a 100 character minimum I would just leave it at that. The meal was excellent and the restaurant is attractive and comfortable. I would definitely go back.

Less is more, too much foam, over complicated and three different meals on each plate. Food was way too complicated and each course had two ingredients too many on the plate. Food should be simple, yes flavours should matched, but you must know when to stop. My biggest gripe was the amount of foam - every course had multiple foam... More

Came here for an early dinner with my fellow foodie mom. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but there was a line out the door when we left. Yes, it's pricey, but the food, hospitality and atmosphere made it worth it. Highly recommend!

This restaurant serves creative and delicious dishes. The arctic char is one of the tastiest meals I have ever had. It had a wonderful medley of different flavors (3 kinds of artichoke, potato, superbly and delicately smoked char and other beautiful ingredients). Try this menu item, your taste buds will thank you for this scrumptious meal!

Foodies and visiting chefs must go here. Tremendously creative dishes. I went two days in a row because I had trouble deciding between entrees. The starters are equally unique, but watch out: they're going to put rye bread on the table, with a bit of seasoned salt surrounded by two kinds of butter, and you will eat it. Yea, I... More
