After reading the stories my fiance and I decided to try this place out. It is definer worth finding. The hotdogs themselves are great and when had with all the condiments even better. It's a great quick and cheap bite to keep you going before a proper dinner

The Icelandic hotdogs are so so so good. Over our 4 day trip we had at least 8 hotdogs each. This place is good but there's another place up the road where they have indoor seating which I preferred as my hands were numb after eating here outside in the cold. You definitely have to have "one with everything" as... More

I really enjoyed all the toppings this hot dog has to offer! The mustard and fried onions added a great texture and flsvor. About $4 USD for a small hot dog.

Cheapest meal in Iceland. Great hot dogs. You have to go at least once -- it's just one of those things you have to do.

Excellent. We went more than once. Long lines but go fast. "Affordable" option in an expensive country.

Well, not sure if it's the only hot dog stand in Reykjavik but the double onions (fried og raw) didn't disappoint. Down it with a can of Malt Og Applesin and it'll sound about right. Visited with family during November. Will like to try it again in Summer.

If you are visiting Reykjavik you have to stop here! This place is famous for a reason- delicious hot dogs, reasonably priced, right by the water.

A small hot dog stand in Reykjavik that has received acclaim around the world. Maybe because it's so small? The hot dogs are just ok and the condiments add some fun to the hot dog. It was good, tasty, but certainly nothing to go out of your way for.

Hot dogs. What can be special about hotdogs? I don't know maybe it is the lamb meat, or the crispy onions or maybe even the special mustard. But these dogs were amazing!!

Description
Baejarins beztu pylsur (English: The best hot dog in town) often shortened to simply "Baejarins beztu", is a popular hot dog stand in central Reykjavik, Iceland. In August 2006, the British newspaper The Guardian selected Baejarins beztu as the best hot dog stand in Europe.

The majority of Icelanders have eaten at Baejarins beztu. It's downtown near the harbor and has been open since 1937. Foreign visitors are often brought to the stand to introduce them to the hot dogs there, which are often called "the Icelandic national food." Among famous people who have eaten at Baejarins beztu are Bill Clinton, former president of the United States, and James Hetfield, vocalist of the popular heavy metal band Metallica.

A hot dog condiments include ketchup, sweet mustard, fried onion, raw onion and remoladi, a mayonnaise-based sauce with sweet relish. Hot dogs are often ordered with "the works," i.E., All condiments, or in Icelandic "eina med ollu".
