This was a stop on our walking tour and we sampled the delicious Rye Bread Icecream, - a must have if you're in Reykjavik. There is also a glorious mural on teh wall outlining some of the main stories about the mischievous Loki.

We stopped in for a little something after visiting Hallgrimskirkja. I had the coffee and chocolate cake. T had hot chocolate and the waffle with caramel and skyr. They were both delicious! The whipped cream with the chocolate cake was so good. It has a...More

While walking by Loki to catch the bus, we smelled the most amazing aroma coming from the restaurant. So we decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did. I had the mashed fish which was a type of casserole which was...More

Hotel recommended this for authentic Icelandic food. I'm a rather picky eater, yet I really enjoyed the Icelandic Sampler #1.. except for the sheep jelly portion. My husband had a traditional Icelandic soup with rye bread. He loved it. Rye bread ice cream is a...More

Went for the shark and brennevin shot. It was a good value compared to other restaurants I'd seen around. The servers were friendly and willing to entertain some of our questions about the city. Beware that the shark and shot are both gross but very...More

I would recommend people visiting Iceland for the first time so stop in! It's a good spot to get a bunch of "must try's" off your list (Hakárl, Brennivín, dried haddock, etc). That said it's not a locals spot, and it was too hot in...More

Café Loki has a distinctive menu of Icelandic food. I had a bowl of the Meat Soup (lamb). Perfect. I sat on the first floor by a window and had a lovely view of the church and the Leif Eiriksson statue.

The rye bread ice cream was unreal! GO! Eat it! Love it! The rest of breakfast was yummy too. It's right across the street from the church, so it's the perfect spot before tours.

Reykjavik is not the best city for parking. Most of it is street parking, and you'll need to buy a permit at the kiosk. If you're not impaired, walking is usually faster and less frustrating.

Cafe Loki offer Icelandic meat soup, Icelandic sample plates, homemade bread and cakes. Icelandic traditional homemade dishes are our specialty. You can taste fermented shark and dried fish but Icelandic meat soup and our Icelandic plates are most popular among the Rye Ice cream and Skyr cake. Beautiful view over Reykjavik, Hallgrimskirkja church and to mountain Blafjoll. Icelandic food.
