Visited Sandholt twice so far during our weeks stay in Reykjavik, my girlfriend reckons the Hot chocolate is the best she has ever tasted and their coffee is lovely too. Big selection of cakes and pastries and a quality feel throughout the place. Price wise we found them to be reasonable for Iceland, with a coffee coming in at around... More

Staff friendly and efficient. Good selection of beers. According to my wife, "the best salad" ( quinoa and Huge) she ever had! Single selection of Soup of the Day ( excellent home made Cream of Tomato on my visit). Clean and uncrowded. Family friendly. Nice selection of breads and sandwiches. Conveniently located on main shopping street and open in the... More

This is a nice casual bakery/cafe on a major pedestrian street of Reykjavik. The food is very good. My wife had lox and capers on brioche and it was excellent. I had skyr and granola (more on that later) which was just okay (the skyr was what you would buy from the supermarket across the street but the granola was... More

Such an adorable place!! The pastries, breads and snacks are as good as they look! Over the course of our vacation we tried the chocolate croissant, some pastaccio thing, cinnamon roll, pretzel, vanilla custard danish, each of the macaroons (cherry, strawberry, banana chocolate) and some chocolates. One thing is better than the next.

Great variety of delicious baked goods as well as good food. The servers were not real attentive and we had to ask for our check but I would go back for the pastries. Iceland is expensive, be prepared for the prices.

We stopped here for an afternoon coffee and chance to rest our weary feet after a day of walking around Reykjavik. It was a nice place to get a sense of local life, but there were definitely tourists around, too. It's a casual spot to either pick up bakery items or sit down and have a meal. The display of... Stopped here to grab a quick to go breakfast before an early morning excursion. Grabbed an egg salad sandwich, coffee and a croissant. Everything was good and did the job.

We arrived in Reykjavik early after a 6am flight. We walked around for a bit but everything was closed - including many of the coffee shops. Most places did not open until 10. Sandholt was one of the few places that was open. The front is a take-out section where you pull a number and wait to be served. Even... More

Super cute interior and great location. Service was very slow and we had to look for a server both to order and to pay. Mom and I shared a chocolate dessert and both ordered Swiss Mochas. My mocha was very bitter, which was odd since it should include some sweeter chocolate. Our dessert was tasty, but nothing crazy amazing. I... More

The interior was recently renovated (last here 2 yrs ago) and has a more open space - been there a LONG time. Beautiful marble counter tops and a see through kitchen......Oh, the coffee and pastries were just as good as we remembered!
