I have had several meals in Iceland (Reykjavik) over the several visits and this ranks among the best. Most of the restaurants in Reykjavik offer stellar examples of fine cuisine and cooking to be sure. What separates them are the subtleties and nuances that distinguish personal preferences. So if you like a quiet intimate atmosphere, Skolabru (Potturinn og Pannan) is... More

The ambience tries to take you back to something traditional and almost succeed doing so. Unfortunately the service, ambience and food serving does not really hit the ceiling. Not that we have any complains about any of the food... But we cost is almost the same as you get to pay for a far better experience in Reykjavik. It will... More

We ate here twice on our trip to reykjavik. The food was really excellent, the rack of lamb was absolutely delicious...cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and offered my mom poppadoms instead of bread as she is a coeliac. A very nice touch! Thank you.

Only here one night it served the purpose, there is no reception all you have is your room, very small but perfect for our need. A little further to downtown

We walked the 15 minutes from our hotel to have dinner in the city and fully enjoyed Skolabru. Food and service were excellent. The house is beautiful and the dining room lovely. Prices were consistent with those in the city - $50-75 included the tip and taxes for an entree. Alcohol was comparably expensive by American standards, but we were... More

It’s a given that food in Iceland comes at a high price — restaurant food, even more so. From the basic hamburger to the peak of fine dining, you’d better be prepared to put down some relatively serious cash if you plan on eating… anything. So when you do decide to dine out, you want that money to be spent... More

This restaurant is in a house built in 1907 and the dining room is beautiful. Service was superb but due to weather, they were not busy. Food was excellent. I had sea wolf which is a fish I had not eaten before. I enjoyed it very much.
