We had lovely service with a knowledgable waiter and enjoyed the cozy, relaxed atmosphere on a rainy night. Each adult ordered one of the set menus, and we loved every course. Cocktails were a lovely start to the meal. All dishes were perfectly prepared with a deft hand for seasoning. Use of sauces was judicious and enhanced flavors rather than... More

We choosed 4 meal set - salmon salat, carpachio, lamb, cream brule. All 4 meals were fantastic. Cousy atmosphere and great service.

We had a great meat here on Wednesday evening around 6. We didn't have a reservation, which wasn't a prep norm and it was still happy hour when we arrived so we ordered some drinks off that discounted menu. We each ordered a different fixed price four-course meal (ranging from about $55-$70 In US dollars) and thought the portions were... More

This place was great value in light of the prices in Iceland and the food was fantastic. The only thing I would say is it is quite a casual place as opposed to a romantic dining experience. I wouldn't let that put you off, I just would have liked a little more atmosphere so thought I'd let people know if... More

We dined here as a group of 8. I highly recommend making reservations as it is a busy restaurant. Our group all had the various tasting menus and we were all very satisfied with the quality and quantity of food. Service was attentive and efficient, we were never rushed and staff was friendly. We would definitely eat here again.

We came here to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was really lovely and very well priced. We tried many things we had never had before including horse and whale. We shared 6 plates and were raving about it for weeks afterwards. Service could have been a little slower to allow for us to enjoy the experience a little more and... More

My partner and I each had one of the four-course set menus and the food was amazing! The portions were good-sized and the prices were very good (compared to other similar restaurants in the area). The service and atmosphere were also very nice. Overall a great experience!

We booked a table at Forrettabarinn for my Birthday and had an amazing dinner here! The Langoustine soup was incredible, although it was slightly disappointing only to have one langoustine tail in the soup. We then had the lamb for our main, which was so tender and probably the best lamb I've ever eaten - they do say Icelandic lamb... More
