We waited a long time for the food, about 50 minutes. Music was so loud it was difficult to hold up a conversation. Food was ok but not worth the money though. Busy and loud on a weekday. We left disappointed and had desserts elsewhere. The 2 stars are for the friendly staff.

Exelent food. Terrible hard wooden chairs. Very loud music, and terrible music too, so if you are going to talk to your partner or waiter you have to shout, there for everyone shouts and the plase is very noisy. I ordered four corse dinner and it took over 2 hours. Not for me. Never again😢

This is one of the local favourites so you will be surrounded with locals having a good time ! One would think you should not do sushi in NIceland - You are wrong ! We found the flyer in pour hotel and the receptionist recommended it. As we love sushi, and the previous time in Iceland we had great sushi, we decided to give this new place a try. We can only recommend it! The staff was super nice, the ambience delightful and the food just amazingly tasty!

Fantastic food in an interesting cozy restaurant. The music was a bit loud, and there was quite a long time between dishes, but all the dishes and the drinks were excellent. Will visit again!

Me and my sisters went to eat there before a concert and even made reservations 5:30pm, so we had enough time before the concert we were gonna go to, which was 8pm. We order a omakase 6 meal menu, we thought that 2 and half hour was enough time for 6 course menu, since we have gone in like that... More

Me and my sisters went for a 6 course meal. The time between courses was too long, the longest was 30 mins! The waiters didnt seem to know what was going on and there was not much communication between them.

As we had heard about how expensive Iceland is and we wanted to spend our money on experiences rather than food we cooked in our apartment most nights but decided to splash out on a meal one night. One of our tour guides recommended sushi samba so we booked it for that night. It turns out that another one of... More

Open at the end of 2011 and a hot favorite on the Reykjavik restaurant scene, Sushi Social - samba & grill offers a deliciously unique take on homegrown ingredients, fusing Iceland's freshest flavors with Japanese and South American influences. The menu offers a great selection, tempting smaller courses, traditional and "Juicy- Sushi" , amazing steaks and sweet desserts. If you can't decide what to go for, the Icelandic feast is a perfect solution - six courses form an incredible taste experience that includes the national aperitif 'Brennivin' and an Icelandic Skyr panna cotta for dessert. Fabulous chili mojitos and a gorgeously eclectic interior are the icing on the cake at Sushi Social. Hand- carved Brazilian curios and some 50 pretty Japanese birdcages complement the contemporary lines and gentle feel of the place.
