Closed! Will re-open as a Jamies Italian. Very disappointing. We have one where we live, and it is mediocre!

The restaurent has never had a good reputation in the 9 years I have stayed at the excellent Borg hotel. Even under new management it lacked something ....Decor is good service good but the kitchen lets you down.

We expected the hotel restaurant to be reopened because the hotel publicity names the chef and says nothing about the ongoing closure. When we asked we were told it would reopen for Christmas then close again until "mid 2017".

Went there with my family. The food was good and the wine but the service could have been better. This is a busy restaurant, elegant and classy. The reason why I give them 4 stars is because the staff were so few which is not good in a busy place like this. They forgot to gave is wine when we... More

Sophisticated, original food but serving sizes especially for main courses are too small. On a Saturday night we waited 90 mins for the entrée to be served. I went out for a hot dog after my two course meal.

The food was disappointing, the restaurant is nicely decorated and the service was kind enough. Wine by glass was good.

First night in Reykjavik , we chose to eat at the hotel restaurant . And it was a good choice! I started with a cauliflower soup that was decent, but not amazing . On the other hand, it gave a great contrast to the main course ; the juiciest and most flavorful beef tenderloin I have eaten. These are big... More

I only dinned at the restaurant once. I found the service was fair as the waitress was helpful and knew the menu well enough to answer my questions. I ordered a lamb dish and was it very delicious and well presented. I would have dinned there again. As with most places in Iceland it was expensive. The only down side was... More

A fine visit where we had some fantastic fusion dishes, they are innovative and flavors are good. This is a good visit, a bit pricey but fun.

The food is absolutely wonderful, with lots of fresh seasonal produce in the most elegant relaxing surroundings. The waiters are top notch, very attentive and friendly. After a long day of sightseeing this is the place to go but as it has a good reputation I advise to book a table in advance. Thank you Borg restaurant for a very memorable evening.
