The food was fantastic! Really fun Tapas! We had a mini snafu with some lobster, but the restaurant bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and provided us with an amazing desert tray.

RESTAURANT'S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 21 March 2017

Incredible restaurant and experience. Icelandic Gourmet menu was excellent value for money- we were absolutely stuffed! I did not expect the food to be so beautifully presented. It tasted delicious. Service was fantastic- friendly and efficient. Would thoroughly recommend this to any tourist wanting a sample of Icelandic food. At the end we were given a description of all the... More

If you want to try the local cuisine, this is a great place to get a little bit of everything! Our waitress was kind enough to let my husband and I split the feast, as they usually expect each patron to order their own. The feast includes: smoked puffin, Icelandic Artic Charr, lobster, blue ling, Icelandic lamb, mink whale, and... More

This place has a nice and comfy venue, the food is okey but they have to put more quantity in the courses, with the menu you easily spend 40 euros and be hungry afterwards, the portions are tiny. On the positive side, it is one of the few restaurants in Reykjavik that open late (I think they close after midnight... More

We were hungry after visiting the Blue Lagoon and arrived in Reykjavik just before 11pm when most of the other restaurants were closing their kitchens so our choices were limited. We stumbled across Tapas Barinn which was still open and happy to serve us, and were very happy we did. I have multiple food allergies, but the staff was very... More

I visited with two friends and my 5 year old daughter on our first night in Iceland. We each ordered several dishes and a pitcher of sangria for the adults. The food was outstanding, and the Spanish style tapas were better than any I've had in Spain. The waiter was pleasant, and the prices were fair all things considered. Highly,... More

We visited this restaurant on a recommendation and were not disappointed. The taster menu is lovely and we received a letter telling us what was on the menu which was an amazing touch. I would recommend booking in advance not to be disappointed. Whilst the prices in Iceland are expenive for food we found this reasonable for what we had.

We went for the 'Journey into the unknown' and it was delicious. Usually you get some items you don't like when a set menu is ordered but we left nothing uneaten. Atmosphere and friendly staff was what made it perfect.

Seven courses of perfectly cooked fish and meat. Amazing cultural sampling of seafood, lamb and puffin. Hawaiian style dessert with lilikoi sauce. Lots of fennel and anise flavors with berry, mint and sweet potato beds. The most economical red wine was a Spanish Tempranillo, perfect.
