A nice. Nice staff and good traditional Icelandic food. Prices are responsible and the food is good. Staff is friendly and over all a place worth visiting.

We knew we had limited options for breakfast, but website indicated they were open for breakfast but in truth they didn't open until noon. Coffee and croissant were my breakfast from the self-service display case - which was good. Friend wanted some protein and found skyr in their cooler one day, but not the following days so settled on a protein bar and coffee. This is a gas station so keep your expectations on that level and you will be satisfied.

thank you for your review.
However, we are not able to put here or on google two opening times, as you can see, here, on Tripadvisor, we are focusing on grill, as name of restaurant says. On google, we have opening time of he building, because Vikurskali is made from two departments - shop and grill. This is not the winter hours, grill is opening at 11 o clock everyday except Christmas time. I am sorry to hear, that you got confused because of that, but we are nowhere promoting breakfast offer.
Of course, in morning you can find in shop very nice pastry and coffee, to get quick bite on your way to explore Iceland. I am really glad that you enjoyed at least that. Hopefully we will see you soon back, when grill will be open, so we can make it up to you!

As far as I was concerned about eating on gas station, it looked like i do not have many other options in the later evening. There is just burger joint open and some pizza place as they informed me, but I decided to stay when I have seen the menu. As my daughter was cold from all the rain we decided to try lambsoup which they make and some warm tortilla with melted cheese which was excellent! Never expected this on gas station.

We ordered burger with egg on top and lambchops. Shared lamb soup. Miss behind counter was little bit stressed by group in front of us. Still she explained differences between lambchops and marinated lamb and told us that burger is from angus beef and thats its very nice. She was right. That guy who was cooking called us for our meals and also got us refill on soup! We’ve been thrilled to get that good meals and smiles on gas station.

The staff was very friendly here and the food was great - typical diner food. Fish and chips and burgers. You order at the counter and then wait for your order to be made. They'll let you know when it is ready. While you wait, enjoy some great views over looking the bay. If the weather cooperates, you can enjoy some outside seating. Service was fast and the food was terrific. Doesn't look like a palace from the outside, but it is well worth the stop if you are hungry and looking for some hot and fresh food.

Okay, this place is definitely fast food stop. We have been little bit annoyed to have burger again but they had some chicken tortilla and it was very good meal. Staff was friendly and we walked out very satisfied.

My family stopped by a little town of Vik after driving 2 hours, looking for something to eat. I was happy to find this place called Vikurskali, which offered both vegetarian and vegan options. I wanted to eat their veggie burger but I am vegan and this was listed as being vegetarian. So I asked the SERVER (don’t know what his name was) what makes it vegetarian versus it being vegan. He stated it has vegetables (DUH). So I asked him what the sauce was, thinking maybe that is what made it vegetarian. And he tells me “There’s a restaurant next door’. Excuse me, but aren’t you a restaurant? So with that said, I did not order from this worker with the bad attitude. What made it worse was, he was also the cook! So how can he not know what’s in the food that he makes?
I forgot to mention that we are visitors from Hawaii who were having such an amazing day, only to getting it ruined by receiving such terrible service from someone like him.
I must admit that the two people in my group ordered not knowing my experience. So as we were sitting in the booth...a family (mom and 2 kids) walks in and asks if he’s open. I did not hear what he said to her. But her reply was ‘That’s why I asked!’ Sounding obviously upset.
Maybe I should feel better that it wasn’t just me that he was rude to. But I did notice that the family was Asian, of which I am, too. So what am I to conclude about this experience? Racist much?
Oh...and my niece ordered a ham and cheese sandwich. It looked like two pieces of grilled toast slapped together. It was so thin that she had to open it up to see it there was anything in it. Her review: ‘Mediocre at best’.
I come from a state which welcomes tourists from around the world with ‘Aloha’. It is sad to see that I would encounter such a horrible experience in such a beautiful place as Iceland.

Great hot dogs option. Inviting view onto the seashore area. Pricey as are all Iceland eateries. Great service with honest descriptions of food choices. Nice beer selection. There is not much in Vik outside the hotel scene, and this restaurant is a valuable option.

We stopped at the Víkurskáli Grill for fuel and lunch while driving through Vik on the Ring Road. It was the typical truck stop type diner offering bathrooms, fuel, snacks, souvenirs, and food. At the restaurant, you order at the counter, find a table, and wait for them to call your number. The lamb stew and fish and chips were delicious. The burger, chicken burger and fries were average. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable.

the lamb chops come with a generous amount of fries and vegetables. I was hungry after a long day of adventure and this hit the spot perfectly. The lamb was super tender in the vegetables were cooked just right. I would definitely recommend it over the burger options because you can get a burger anywhere.
