Great coffee and delicious cherry slice in a cool garden. Easy to miss so watch for the signpost - I would have driven past but my wife's coffee-tuned eyes saw It amongst the trees. Bar and lunches looked good to remember for our next visit.

It took awhile to find this pub down the long country road, but the drive was worth it. Nice service, food was great the meal size was huge and It was nice and quite that I could talk to my friends. Would recommend and gladly go back.

If you like your Guiness poured "Irish" style by an Irishman (Greg) or an Irishwoman (Mary) and you want a genuine Irish accent to go with it, the Waterford cafe in the Manawatu heartland near the headwaters of the Pohangina River is the ideal place to kick back and soak up the sunshine. Even better, stay for dinner and you... More

We have loved coming to the Waterford Tavern for lunches over the years. Some 5-10 minutes driving from Ashurst the lovely garden atmosphere with bush and birds in abundance. Food is very good value for money and with Irish Beer on tap the Waterford is certainly a great place to find in a country setting

We stopped as a drive-by for a coffee and wondered if we were at the right place as it was hard to tell where to enter... however we followed the path and we were in! It is a quaint little 'Irish' bar and cafe right in the middle of nowhere. It will be especially 'pretty' in full spring blossom as... More

We don't go here nearly enough. It's a great little pub in a lovely location in the countryside with views of the ranges and outside garden setting. Good food and service. I love the wedges for a great snack. We went also for the music we heard would be there as there are some good local Celtic musos around. Worth... More

Food is very very average, I try to get something that is healthy and not fried or plastered with mayo. Couldn't make me a salad for some reason. The nice spot made up for the food.

The Food quality and service was just awesome and the staff very friendly and helpful. It is in need of a bit of decoration but the overall warm atmosphere more than makes up for this. Parking is no issue and it’s easy to find just off the main road. The beer garden out the back is well done and a... More

A short drive from Palmerston North, via Ashhurst, The Waterford is a bit of an institution in the area. It has a certain Irish beer in tap . The atmosphere is a combination of the hospitality of rural New Zealand with the humour and conviviality of Irish pubs half a world away.
