Place was a bit cold inside, food was fine, nothing spectacular. Staff very friendly, price according to standard.

If you're out in Malta it's definitely worth a trip to fontanella! Been here many a time and will continue to on every trip, every cake I've had has been flawless and get to enjoy it looking over the stunning views, if only I lived closer so I could come more often!

This place was absolutely sublime. We stopped here whilst looking around Mdina. The cake was pretty good but I wouldn't rate it above other tea rooms, the tea was perfect but the view was phenomenal!! Will definitely go back again!

This is easily one of my favourite places on earth. Seriously. Wonderful atmosphere that, despite being full of tourists, maintained loads of character and a real authentic feel. The food is really well priced and delicious. But, for me at least, its their range of unbelievably gorgeous hot chocolates, that make a trip to Mdina, and perhaps even Malta, worth... More

We stopped here for cake & coffee, some ordered a sandwich - great prices & cakes to die for. Fantastic views from the terrace seats up the stairs. Friendly staff. Would definately go back.

When in Mdina you may want to stop here for a quick drink and bite while savouring the wonderful views! It's important to note that the Maltese cuisine served here is not really authentic, it's been modified to suit international taste. That said, the food is great and the service is top notch.

Every time I visit Malta (10 years now) a visit to Mdina culminating in a visit to Fontanellas is essential. Their coffee, snacks and home made cakes are out of this world and not expensive. I love the old fashioned kiosk where you go to pay, full of character and amazing views. *** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ***

Thank Tony E
