We went to eat at Rampila on a pleasant, warm May evening. We ate outside in the courtyard, which was a great setting. The food was wonderful, the starters of beef carpaccio and fish broth being particularly good.

Situated in the ramparts of the old Valletta fort, this is a lovely place to eat. A small terrace overlooks the city walls and the gateway to the city and the restaurant inside remains cool in all weathers. Steep staircase down but they have a stairlift for those who need it.

Second visit and hair as good as the first. Didn't book so we had to sit inside as the terrace was booked up. Tip book in advance if you want the terrace. Food is excellent and wine very nice, service pleasant and swift. Highly recommended.

A must visit for either lunch or dinner. Great to sit on the outside terrace during the day but if that's full the inside is carved into the rock. Food & wine are both excellent. We visited 2 years ago & sat outside for lunch - we sat inside for lunch on our return visit

An interesting restaurant with an unusual cellar basement which is well presented and welcoming, the garden area is very pleasant to sit out and enjoy dinner The service and waiting staff were attentive, friendly and helpful and the quality of food was excellent and cooked as requested (steak), great wine choice and the desserts were delicious too, all in all... Ate here twice, no regrets at all. It's a great spot overlooking the moat (empty) and the city ramparts. Hewn out of the rock, the sloping floor is quite alarming at first but it's all part of the character. The octopus starter and pork rack in a mushroom and truffle sauce are delicious, wines are very reasonably priced and the... More

Real value for the money, but hard to find. Surch between the walls. The food is excellent. The staff outstanding. And the wine menu of high quality. Ask for Maltese wines.

Just getting to Rampila is an adventure, but not as bad as I expected. I was told to take the wide staircase on the left of the pedestrian bridge into Valletta, but I found out that there is a marked elevator right near the steps that makes it much easier to get to the top. When you exit the elevator,... More

You need to book and try to get a table on the outside terrace, which has a wonderful ambience. The food was outstanding and, for its quality, very reasonably priced - we ate at other restaurants in Valletta paying more for food nowhere near this good. The service in particular was ultra attentive. Portions can be large so we each... More
