I had the six course Gala Menu which combined well prepared and imaginatively presented excellent food with very good value [58 Euros]. The service was very attentive--I apologise to the waiter of Afghan heritage for not being able to spell his name--and the views over...Linz in the late afternoon, twilight and early evening were magnificent. The tram journey from and to the city adds an extra dimension to a wonderful culinary and sightseeing experience.More

The food was delish, but im afraid the portions vere expensive. I chose maki and the portion was small and the price was high. I was quite dissapointed. Just for your information it was a family reunion and it ended up costing a lot. "A...price is only allowed to be high, when the food is good"More

As i was eating at this restaurant two days ago, i was impressed by the view you have from the castle, and the excellent food that is made there. As well as the very competent and friendly service that is provided there. I can recommend...this restaurant to every tourist and visitor of the capital city of upper austria. The soup was the: "Schaumsuppe vom gelben Paprika, mit Jakobsmuschel", main course was the: "Regenbogenforelle auf Eierschwammerl-Risotto mit Rieslingschaum", which were both amazing, cooked to the finest grade and tasted exquisitely.More

The restaurant is a bit dated and could do with some redecorating...food was just ok..nothing special...though the best part was the desert...

We had dinner at the Postlingberg Schlossl on a warm Saturday evening. The restaurant is up high, overlooking Linz and the Danube. There is a long window looking down into the city. The upper half open, so you get a cool breeze and pleasant dining...experience. It's a shame that on each table one person gets the view the other looking in the opposite direction. I'm not sure though whether changing the table configuration would solve anything. The service is polite and friendly. The food was very good. My asparagus risotto, one of the best I'd had in a very long time. My wife's meal also very good. There is a huge carte de vin, giving you an extensive choice of wines. The atmosphere is relaxed, not at all formal. Some guests were in shorts and t-shirts, which I always find a little odd for dinner. It would be perhaps a good thing to have a minimum dress code for dinner, at least a collared shirt for men. It would just add to the overall experience, given the location, view and food lend themselves to a what i guess these days is defined as fine-dining. Overall, a very enjoyable evening, we'd definitely book again if in Linz.More

We stopped here for a lunch after a ride up with the postlingbergbahn. Service was very good here and also the food. We had a great lunch. I personally had the Wiener Schnitzel (€13,80) and it was very good.

My family and I had a great time at this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was super delicious! We had the chance to be served by a German waiter who was absolutely kind and sweet to us. He was making sure that...also our 3 children would find a nice dinner choice and gave them the chance to taste some food which they didn't know before ordering the plate. The dinner was so delicious that I can't wait to come back to eat there again. Last but not least, the restaurant manager (Anton) came to talk to us, to give us some hints on the city, to offer us his help as we don't know the area and this kindness meant also a lot to us.More

We chose this place to celebrate our anniversary mostly because of its location. And we were not disappointed. We got a table outside where the view was amazing, you could see the whole Linz. Food was also good, but on the down side is that...the menu is limited, you don’t have many options to pick from. Nevertheless our choices were delicious and we definitely left with a full belly. Prices are a bit higher, but give the location and the quality of food it was worth it. I don’t imagine going there as a regular, but once in a while, for sure.More

Unfortunately this restaurant didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The service was only average at best. The table was not properly set and when I asked about wine the waiter made the assumption I would just take any red or white wine. Once the...waiter realised I wasn’t happy a list appeared and the waiter was more helpful with information on local wines. I hasten to add this was a wedding anniversary dinner. The food was above average but not outstanding, prices are high. Tap water and the basket of bread are charged for on the bill. Our waitress was not friendly and did not try to help us. Location is special only wish the service was the same.More

We just stopped in for a beer, as alas, it was not mealtime. This looked like a charming place with picture windows providing a pretty view of Linz down below. We were entertained by a young mother chasing her free-spirit two-year old all around the...room for the entire time. Charming.More
