Traditional Austrian Inn in Salzburg's old town. Food and beer are really good, and the owner Robert is brilliant, as are the staff. Must place to eat when in Salzburg

I liked how I felt so welcome when I arrived. The waitress provided really impeccable service which made me feel at home. Gave me recommendations on what to order too. I was clear on what I wanted - the schnitzel which everyone has been proclaiming how it's the best in Salzburg. I thought the food was a little overrated or... More

I'm very sorry. I'm sure he's not literally a madman. But that's how he came across. I guess he's the owner. Old grey haired guy, blue eyes, leder hosen. Some reviewers seem to think that his aggression is part of the charm. He kept yelling at an older Far Eastern Lady "NO CARD NO CARD". She was shell shocked &... More

With big portions of traditional Austrian food, they have by far the best Schnitzel in town! Casual with big tables that you can share!

We were in Salzburg for the football and with 10,000 Schalke fans in town, restaurants were at a premium. However, we found the 'Wild man' hidden away through an archway and it turned out to be an absolute gem. Friendly service, superb food (I had the roast steak) and excellent Weissbier.

A place to mingle with locals with cheap hearty meals. Comes with big portions of food. Very near Mozart's birthplace.

We enjoyed the qquality food prepared well at a reasonable price. Not as tasty as some, but a great place to fill up. The staff is efficienr, and friendly if you try, and willing to do what they can for you.

We came over to Salzburg, from Munich, for the day, to see the Christmas markets. We have been there several times before, so wanted a good, local restaurant for lunch. Hidden in a beautiful courtyard, right in the middle of the old city, we found Gasthaus Wilder Mann, and it was perfect. Busy, efficient staff, with an older server who... More
