Easy, relaxed local food with a modern twist. We had the roast pork and the beef goulash and both were excellent. Service is friendly but pretty slow, so sit back and enjoy a beer while you wait. This place has quite a few large rooms...More

The food here was very tasty and fresh. As is still the case for most Austrian restaurants, gluten-free options were very limited, though workable. They did a lovely job of trout on a cheesy risotto - which sounds weird, but it was fabulous. The waitress...More

Local food in a great setting with lots of local beer and wine. The food is very good and for a meat eater I would recommend the Oxtail which is the speciality of the house. I am told the chicken and steak are also good....More

Absolutely spot on dinner, traditional Austrian food done very well! Number one for Weiner schnitzel without a doubt! A number of vegetarian options which can be hard to come by. Very tasty. Highly recommend this place for a meal.

Description
The 'Gablerbrau' is the most important historical beer inn of the right-sided old town of Salzburg, completely renovated since 2013 and now in new splendor. The history of this place goes back to at least 1429. Austrian cuisine with a modern twist. Reasonable priced lunch offers varying daily from Monday to Friday. Great variety of local beers, including special sorts such as "Kaltenhausener Bernstein" from a brewery near Salzburg or the unfiltered "Gosser Zwickl". Striking interior with coloured glass paintings evoking a church-like atmosphere. In the "Wappenstube" significant woodcarvings. Popular beer garden in the newly designed Cornelius Reitsamer place with spectacular architectural accents (fountains). In addition to the time-honored part also a modern bar and restaurant area. In the basement guests appreciate the exclusive bar "L9", ideal for events with up to 120 people.
