We waited till the last day in Innsbruck and had really looked forward to trying the famous Sacher torte. It was a little dry, a little small and a little poor in taste. The coffee wasn't amazing either, but the surroundings are nice.

One of the gems of Innsbruck old town and highly recommended. We went for breakfast and had an extraordinary selection of well prepared food, we didn't eat until evening! We also went back to sample the world famous Sacher Torte which deserves its reputation, absolutely...More

Mix of tourists and locals. Nice place to relax for 10 minutes or an hour. Good place to meet other travelers and enjoy conversation. Great coffee; and of course the pastries are wonderful!More

We had just visited the Hofburg palace and wanted a drink. This cafe is opposite the exit. We had four coffees. They do decaffeinated coffee. We resisted the cake they invented, the famous Sacher Torte. We had a small chocolate bun with fruit punch. Thankfully...More

By chance we arrived to this incredible Cafe and restaurant, the Sacher dream. To be honest it is so stylish and fancy that I didn't want to get in as I was wearing casual. In the end we stepped in and I had the most...More

I had heard so much about the Sacher Torte that I had to try it. I was NOT impressed. It is dry, rather bland and very expensive. It's definitely overrated.

Having read that this is where the chocolate cake originated, I decided to have a go at it. The Sachertorte may not be the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten, but I must say that the beautiful atmosphere of the cafe more than makes up...More

After visiting Nordkettnbahen, I could find this cafe just nearby. The menu and decor match the ambience. Outside tables offering dining experience is also good.Variety of Piazzas and soft drinks is quite impressive. Good for quick bite and not at all expensive.

Description
The elegant and iconic Café Sacher in Innsbruck is in the Hofburg Imperial Palace and it exudes old world Habsburg atmosphere with modern touches brought in with a 2011 refurbishment. The café is a successful combination of a wine bar, restaurant & café.

It offers the opportunity to sample some Original Sacher-Torte but there are also many savoury dishes and a fabulous wine list. In the summer the quiet interior courtyard of the palace is a great venue for sampling some of our extensive selection of cocktails and liqueurs.

Host Alexander Klapps and his team treat their guests to outstanding culinary delights. The combination of a café, wine bar and a high-class restaurant offers an impressive choice of creative and delicious dishes, combining innovation and tradition, accompanied by a fine selection of wines.
