The Griechenbeisl Restaurant located in the the first District in the Vienna City, it's the oldest Restaurant in town, to get there by public transport tram numbers 1 or underground U1/U4 "Schwedenplatz" then a few minutes walk, the Staff are very nice, friendly, food was very nice created, you need reservation before go there.

While strolling through the streets of this beautiful city we were looking for somewhere to eat that evening and we stumbled across this place where we were lucky they had one table left. It had everything we were looking for....history, local food and ambiance. We dined in the quaint Zither room where music was provided by a talented man who... More

This is a wonderfully traditional Viennese tavern. Several rooms, and loads of character. It is like a trip back into history - and good food as well. Thoroughly recommended.

On the recommendation of a patrolling police officer we visited this restaurant earlier this week. It certainly looks quaint and the atmosphere was cosy. The waiters appeared friendly and there was a good selection of traditional food on the menu. The service was reasonably welcoming and quick. When the food arrived it was well presented, as described and was of... More

If what you're looking for is traditional Viennese fare then there is probably nowhere better in Vienna in which to experience it. Just because it is the oldest restaurant in Vienna is excuse enough to go but don't expect haut cuisine. The food is good but not exceptional. Service is efficeint and our waiter was delightful but, as they're pretty... More

Went here for dinner, had noticed they had really good information about gluten-free choices. The staff seemed knowledgeable about my allergy and was friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely great and I would certainly recommend you go go here, if not for the food then go for the atmosphere!

This was my second time eating at Griechenbeisl. It was lovely again, and I will go back every time I visit Vienna - the food is amazing! I have only tried the more unique dishes, like the pumpkin soup (seasonal), and the spinach roulade (vegetarian, but rich and hearty), and can say that they are some of the most memorable... More

We had been searching for another restaurant which was full when we got there, how lucky were we that this was the case. We stumbled upon Griechenbeisl and had a great meal with fantastic service that we will remember for a long time. The food was delicious but just as important was the attendance the young waiter gave us. He... More

Loved the food and the service was brilliant staff very attentive and helpful. Typically Austrian with some amazing dishes and portions are large! Was really Christmassy and they had someone playing music on a Zither! Huge place with lots of different rooms, loved the local wine!!
