It is an oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Our group of 4 couples after biking along Danube stayed several days. Attention to detail in every way from the romantic balconies or porches, plants tended to with care, fruit and coffee in the rooms, amenities for bathroom, bathrobes...and more. The breakfasts were delicious, local fruits and home baked goods,... More

This is a really lovely place, quiet, comfortable and within easy reach of City Centre by tram or metro. The combined ticket is a good buy. Rooms large and very well appointed. Breakfast excellent. The restaurant is only open Tuesday to Friday but the food is well cooked and generous.

We had been in the neighbourhood, walked by and went in to have some light food and a few glasses of wine as it was getting a bit late. The menu is rather short so we chose beef tartare and a selection of cheese paired with red wine. The beef tartare tasted (and probably contained?) anchovies which I personally can... More

Look at the site to see what this place is about. That explains it better than I can. Wonderfully tasty food. Homely and welcoming. Brilliant service. Happy, friendly staff. A real Viennese experience as contemporary Viennese would do it - not touristy Schnitzel in the city centre. If the Chef did do Schnitzel it would probably be the best in... More

A lovely atmosphere in the courtyard outside, great service, wonderful food and our favourite meal whilst staying in Vienna. We would visit again.

Here the chef cooks with his heart. This is a nice not so upscale restaurant that (as far as I can judge) receives locals more than it caters to tourists. The interior is cosy, down to earth and we sat in an alcove surrounded by 4 benches. Quite intimate. The waitress was efficient knew what to do and gave us... More

They have their own rules. They're not open on Saturdays, Sundays or Mondays. You can't just go in and eat. You have to reserve via email. They don't accept groups. Yet it's worth the effort. Once you're in this charming, tastefully decorated restaurant you'll be indulged with great food. I was very impressed by their creativity in their recipes. Pumpkin... More

We visited the restaurant for early dinner (for later all the tables were booked) and therefore ended up being alone in the restaurant, which is always a bit odd... But the waitresses were sweet, the food was tasty and the wines were wonderful and served in proper glasses! They accommodates our baby pram next to our table, which was great.... More

Judged from the outside, you would never quess what a gem is hidden inside. The owners are obviously very passionate about their business and have thought out everything. Both the food and the way it is served underlines the sincere respect of the customers. The restaurant has a genuine slow food attitude and the customers are allowed all the time... More

The restaurant is down-to-earth, almost the opposite of an elegant restaurant, more like dining with very friendly relatives. The wine list is outstanding--we had an eight-year-old Gruner Weltliner of great power.

Thank you a lot for your recommendation - we are really happy, when our guests feel a little "at home" and we can offer fine Austrian wine, beer and food specialities. We hope to welcome you again here at Schreiners. Good time and best greetings! Angela and Thomas Schreiner More

You can take seat and enjoy this cozy restaurant -either in the very green garden or in the traditional parlour.
Schreiners is a small restaurant with honest food of the highest quality is of great importance to them. They use fresh local ingredients including vegetables, fruit and cheese directly from the market.
The menu varies seasonally and presents a balance between classic Austrian cuisine and new international influences.
Think locally as well as outside the box.
There is an exclusive selection of wines, Haselbraeu and Freistaedter beers, natural fruit juices and exquisite spirits.

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
