The Kern Beisl is underrated and a hidden gem just a step away from Vivienne Westwoods shop in Tuchlauben in a side street. A restaurant with a local following and with a warm and friendly reception awaiting you. Attentive staff with a good knowledge of...More

I have been eating twice at Kern's Beisel. The first time I had Gefüllte Schweinsbrust a Viennese classic Heurigen dish. It was excellent . The second time I had 'Zander', ( pike parch). On the menu it was offered deep fried but upon my request...More

We visited this restaurant for lunch today, and were very pleasantly surprised. I had an excellent grilled chicken salad with balsamic dressing, and my husband had the goulash, which he said was excellent. The service was friendly but unobtrusive, and the food appeared very quickly....More

A really good little restaurant offering tasty Austrian food in a friendly atmosphere. Great goulash! Reasonable prices. This little gem is just two minutes away from the cathedral but is tucked away on a quiet pedestrian sidestreet, away from the traffic and the tourists.
