Had goulasch soup which was excellent. mains were Tafelspitz a Viennese speciality basically boiled beef. Came in a saucepan with fresh vegetables and was delicious. Had the wonderful Palatschinken as dessert which is basically a chocolate pancake but fab!

Went here after Figmuller is fully booked. It was a good choice. The wiener snietchel was big, crispy outside and juicy inside. Goulash was also great. Above all, the beer was fantastic. Nice place to hang ut and chill in the evening.

This restaurant boasts it's long heritage, and has various press clippings on the wall from apparently somewhat well known Austrians visiting the restaurant. Those days seem long gone though, yet the furniture and interior still reflect those days (meaning, it could use a major overhaul). The food is cooked for the masses, and way too salty. As many other reviews... More

Called in and were able to have a table although there were many locals eating there in the evening. The gulash soup as starter was very good and followed by Tafelspitz and the Steirishes Schnitzel both were very good and full of flavour. We would definitely return and the food was far superior to Figlmuller where we went the next... More

Much like the other reviewers, we ate here because it was the only place we could find after a long day of walking and being very hungry with few options in the area. It was also one of the only places with even a single vegetarian option (dumplings). The interior is quite old and dated (and it could be nice... More

First night stroll near our hotel & stumbled upon this restaurant. Just wanted simple Wiener schnitzel & fries & this is exactly what we got. Nice staff & reasonable prices made it a good choice. Rose wine was delicious & reasonably priced. €56 total for the meal & wine. Old fashioned premises but very well maintained. I'm sure there is... More

The atmosphere was good. The service was good. The food was average at best. They only had 3 vegetarian options and I chose the spinach dumplings. It did not taste good.

What a splendid restaurant! The food is traditional and Viennese. I particularly recommend the Goulash! The service (Ludwig and Raphael) was friendly, polite and discreet and the dinning room, both elegant and comfortable. We will return.

I have no idea how this place celebrated their 50 year in business in 2013, but the food is too salty, and very average at best! I ordered the lamb steak, which was swimming in way too salty sauce! It was the only tourist trap open on a Sunday, so I had little choice.

The service was quite good, and our food was all right except for a really awful salad dressing which may have been a herb we weren't familiar with. My daughter described as bad breath, but I thought it was more diaper-flavored... I really think it was a herb. This is a quaint old place and we were surrounded by locals.... More
