This is the kind of place you just have to visite just to feel the atmosphere. You are transported back to the «fin de siecle» - a true Vienna feeling. We just had coffee - but loved it.

Stopped here for afternoon coffee & cakes as it was highly recommended by friends & on tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. Great Viennese cafe with a great atmosphere. Waiters very pleasant. Wide choice of cakes. Worth a break from sightseeing!!!!

I would recommend it to anyone who has never been for an afternoon tea experience at Harrods London or Ritz Mayfair London. Exactly same theme with cakes, sandwiches tea and piano. I preferred being in sunshine outside a local cafe enjoying local delicacies with local...More

We had a lovely time at a Cafe Central. Service and decor wonderful. Drinks were delicious. Chocolate cake was to die for; crepes just OK hence why only 4 stars. All in all though a visit is recommended

There was a queue to get in but it wasn't too long of a wait, and it was well worth the delay to get inside. The food and drinks were excellent and the interior was like eating in a vibrant art gallery.

No you don't need to book, but if you are going during late Spring, Summer or early Autumn I would do. We went in early February with snow on the ground, and we still had to queue for a while to get a table. I dread to... More

This famous traditional café with its 130 year history was first opened in 1876 and at the turn of the 20th century it was a popular meeting point for leading lights in the world of art, literature, politics and science such as Arthur Schnitzler, Sigmund Freud, Peter Altenberg and Leo Trotzki. Then, like today, the legendary literature café was a meeting point for all ages, regular guests, Viennese locals and visitors. Unique architecture combined with the best coffee specialities, classic Viennese cuisine and finest home-made pastries make every visit a special experience. Daily Live Piano Music from 5pm on! Reservations are strongly recommended to avoid waiting time - upon availability. Many thanks in advance for your understanding!
