I am a regular visitor here because I just love their pizzas. Even though theres more and more places to have glutenfree pizza in the city, this one is by far the best! Love the ambiance, the atmosphere and of course the pizza or noodles. The staff was always friendly (all of them) and attentive and you really feel welcome... More

I was so impressed by the Gluten-free pizza here that it warrants a trip advisor review. I've been gluten free for 7 years and have had a lot of bad, mediocre, or once in a while semi-decent GF pizza. I read several reviews of this restaurant from people claiming that this was the best GF pizza they have ever had.... More

We ate at Scarabocchio tonight. Six of us in total. Two of us are native Italians. It was great. This is a Pizzeria in name only. It is really a fine Italian restaurant disguised as a pizzeria. The low prices help the camouflage but the comfortable, friendly environment and quality food give it away. This is no cheapo pizza place.... More

I have never seen such an extensive gluten free menu before even back home in the States! We didn't have a reservation but were so glad that they could fit us in as walk-ins. I had read that this was the place for GF pizza in Vienna with a dedicated oven, and it's right! There were tons of GF pizza... More

It was a great Italian restaurant that we really enjoyed. Everything is available gluten free, including amazing pastas and pizzas. My friends who were not gluten free loved it as well. Make sure you visit!

When you're schnitzel'd out and in need of good Italian food (Namely a good pizza) complete with convivial hospitality and decor this place fits the bill. They were full but managed to squeeze us in after 15 minutes (I had called and knew they were full but we decided to take a chance anyway). The staff were great and the... More

This Italian family run restaurant offers their entire menu with the option of gluten free pasta or pizza base. The service was phenomenal and the atmosphere fantastic. It was such a pleasure to be able to take my daughter somewhere she had such an amazing menu choice. She smiled from the moment the menu arrived till I rolled her out!... More

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
