My first destination in Vienna, this, the smallest and coziest of the great Plachutta restaurants serves fabulous Tafelspitz, as well as many other (some even better) cuts of gently boiled beef. Put yourself in their hands as far as how to order the meal. Great...More

This place could be more with a little warmth from the staff and management. The food is absolutely overpriced and sadly just standard food that one can find at any Viennese place. Not for me.

We did a river cruise Amsterdam to Budapest. When we arrived in Vienna we just wanted to eat local and enjoy the atmosphere away from the boat. Our tour director Cherie Cooper recommended this great restaurant. It was about a 10 minute walk from the...More

Fantastic Tafelspitz, nice ambience, great service. Special recommendation: Marillensaft to drink... absolutely lovely apricot juice. We go there every time we are in Vienna and it's always amazing.

We enjoyed an excellent dining experience from the moment we walked in the door. The staff were friendly, helpful and extremely professional. We ordered a goose pate for an appetizer and traditional Austrian meat dish for our main and they were incredibly delicious. The wine...More

If you're planning on visiting Plachutta make a reservation- especially for the patio if desired. We lucked out with a mid-afternoon refreshment outside, but would recommend in order to avoid disappointment.

I understand this restaurant is many many years old, which probably means something. Food is pricey (but not to an excessive degree), but this is to be expected from such a place. The plates and servings were quite big. Stuff polite, very clean. There can...More

During the 80s '3 Husaren' reigned supreme in Vienna's admittedly small gourmet scene under the leadership of Uwe Kohl and Ewald Plachutta. In 1993 the two split and Ewald Plachutta started to build a small empire of restaurants. The food is so quintessentially Austrian that...More

Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most
romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its
many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby
Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls
through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of
a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are
Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns,
and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill –
