If you make it to the Vienna Woods north of historic Vienna, leave time for lunch at Zum Renner. Wonderful outdoor dining location under the trees, with traditional Viennese fare. English menu available. Good for couples or families.

Had Wiener schnitzel and Austrian white wine (Sauvignon Blanc) - both excellent, sitting under flowering chestnut trees. Weather was comfortably cool. Great feel of Vienna away from tourists.

Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most
romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its
many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby
Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls
through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of
a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are
