Even though it was suggested to us for it's original Wiener Schnitzel, the overall experience was less than average. We were the only customers in the restaurant and yet the service was very slow. Schnitzel was below average. Thin, tasteless and yet, still quite expensive. Gulasch on the other hand was good. Overall, I wouldn't suggest it.

We were a group of French friends and we never felt welcome from the moment we entered the restaurant to the moment we left. The food was ok to good depending on what we had chosen, but the waiter was ultra rude to us, didn't give us a single smile, was super grumpy and arrogant, he made a mistake with... More

I've been to Porterhouse on two different trips to Vienna with a few years between them, and I plan to return in July. Good Austrian food, cozy, old fashioned atmosphere and a great wine list. It's a great spot for dates or dinners with friends, just off of Stephansplatz.

Called in by chance and were lucky to get a table for two. One starter - goose liver top class. We had wild boar ragout and sliced beef in peppercorn sauce, very good indeed. Apple pie to finish. The service was very traditional but spot on. All in all, the best meal we had in Vienna

The Porterhouse restaurante offers a decent food for a decent price and a good service. Nothing outstanding, just a regular restaurant where you can stop for lunch.

We visited Porterhouse originally, not on recommendation, but because we happened upon it one freezing Viennese December night. We felt like we had found a gem of a place : we were seated in the smoking area which suited us perfectly and the room was cosy with a beautiful bar. Service was friendly and attentive and food was excellent- we... More

Friendly staff, if not a little slow. Good menu and wine list. Food was good, plenty of choice. Had to wait a while for the bill but once we out our coats on it appeared!

Really surprised by the quality of the food here. I found the restaurant almost empty and i never heard about it, so i was not expecting much.. i was just super-hungry. But result was amazing. Quality of food is very high, even compared with more "famous" alternatives around the corner :) The bad side was the service and the atmosphere,... More

Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
