Avoid the blond boygirl waitress that likes to lecture customers. Facilities nice but waitress was very rude.

We had dinner outside here on our first day in Oslo as it was near our hotel. Everyone there seemed to be relaxed and having fun. There was a table of 4 guys playing backgammon who seemed to be old friends. Easy to just have...More

Finally a restaurant in Oslo serving honest food for a decent price, including good friendly service and surprisingly better fish than Solsiden on the waterfront. You can also have a conversation here without music drowning out the customers. Recommended!

On the ground floor of the House of Literature you find Kafé Oslo - Litteraturhuset's café, bar and restaurant, with tables both indoors and outdoors. Here you can get lunch or dinner, or just something to drink. The menu at Kafé Oslo's is changed frequently. The kitchen is open Monday-Saturday until 10 pm (closed 3.30-4 pm) and Sundays until 6 pm (lunch menu only). In the innermost end of the café you find LesBar (=Readable), with deep chairs with reading lamps and a comprehensive collection of newspapers and magazines. Kafé Oslo is a literature café with its own stage and regular events. Litteraturhuset (the House of Literature) opened in 2007 and is the first centre of its kind in Norway.
