I have wanted to eat at the Grand Cafe since I was a teenager, this year with my daughter I finally did and it was a wonderful experience! We had medium sized meals for lunch, a perfect amount of food and not too pricey as is often the case for Norwegian restaurants. I had grilled cauliflower and my daughter had... More

Menu is limited but food is tasty, strange music, waiters don' t understand Norwegian or... The restaurant looks fine, but not sure if the room solution is optimal. Unrealised success?!

We went for the three course Express Lunch, which at best was slow lunch. They offered coffee on the house as compensation. Food tasted well and was nicely presented. The restaurant itself is worth a visit based on the interior alone. Cool and full of history.

I traveled with a colleague for work, and we ate here on separate occasions for breakfast and dinner. We stayed in the Grand Hotel, so this restaurant was very convenient. The breakfast was INCREDIBLE – a huge variety of fresh options! The dinner was very nice, too – excellent seafood and a helpful waiter.

It was a public outrage when Grand Café was closing for a total makeover, will it ever be as good as it was and will it lose its charm? Grand Café used to be a daytime gathering point for "idle rich, semi-old women" eating cake, quite a dangerous image. Not any more. Todays GC is worth a visit, the menu... More

We came across with this restaurant after visiting Royal Palace, and i have to admit we enjoy very much! Very cute and tasty food in a very modern and posh room! The only bad thing are the prices (In all Oslo is the same unfortunately)

The Grand Cafe first opened in 1874. In the restaurant, Henrik Ibsen would eat his daily lunch and Edvard Munch once offered to swap the painting ‘Sick Girl’ in return for 100 steak dinners. Now, more than 140 years later a new era has begun. A new restaurant and an extensive wine cellar.

We are looking forward to welcoming new and returning guests, starting the next chapter.
