The restaurant offers a breathtaking view over Oslo and Oslofjorden. Some time ago we visited the restaurant in order to enjoy a dinner, today we wanted just to sit outside in the sunshine with a cup of coffee and a little snack or some pastry. After our dinner experience, we decided never to visit the place again for that purpose.... More

The Holmenkollen Restaurant is located on the Holmenkollen hill and just down from the Holmenkollen Ski Arena and the great Holmenkollen hotel . It has a great view of the city of Oslo and is located in a wonderfully restored log cabin being some 100 years old . It is located a 10 min. walk from the Frognerseteren tram and... More

I went there with a big group - hosted by the office I was visiting. Unlike others (who traveled using a bus from the hotel in Fornebu), I took the train from the Oslo central station. It was a nice ride up and I also enjoyed the short walk from the station to the restaurant amid the snow. The restaurant... More

Visited this log-cabin restaurant with a view of Oslo city on a winter's night. View of beautiful white snow but tucked inside a cosy fire-side, wooden decor. Nice way to spend a cold winter's night. Good Norwegian cuisine. 20-30min drive from the city, not too far for nice view and experience having a meal in a log cabin.

It was a funny story. Tired after walking around the city we decided to celebrate family event in the hotel. We arrived in sport style dresses and asked is it possible to eat something. We were replied that the kitchen is going to be close in 40 (!) minutes and that's why we can order no more than 7 (!)... More

This restaurant has interesting traditional decor, including a lovely open fire, and a superb view over Oslo and Oslo fjord. The food is excellent but on both occasions when I have been there, there have been no vegetarian options. Unfortunately, service was very slow when I was there recently, even though there were few customers. Indeed, it was so slow... More

Me and my companion had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. We both ate cod with lobster sauce which was just super! The restaurant's atmosphere is amazing, also the view is spectacular! Will recommend this to everyone, worth visit.

The restaurant offers a flair of traditional Norwegian cuisine like salmon, moose or venison. The decor is nice and spacious with offers the visitors - if the weather is nice - splendid views over Oslo. Also in close proximity to the iconic Holmenkollen ski jump. Curious staff and tasty dishes. Good value - at least for Norwegian standards - but... More

"Food is quite good but prepare to pay the price. I am sure the view is fabulous on a clear day but unfortunately it happened to be the foggiest day therefore I cannot comment much about the view. We enjoyed the lobster soup, meatballs with potato puree and lingonberry sauce and did not have to wait too long for our... More

Food is OK but very expensive. Foreign staff made it difficult to communicate, they actually brought the wrong dish so one in our company only got her meal when the rest of us had finished. Views are amazing and really the main reason for a visit but make sure its not cloudy/foggy.
