Nice restaurant in city center. There were only one or two waiters on service. The food quality was Ok overall but it is quite expensive compared to the other Indian cuisine restaurants in Norway. The food taste was definitely not extra ordinary. I have definitely tasted better Indian and Pakistani Restaurants in Oslo and Trondheim in terms of food quality and... More

Taj Mahal was nearly empty when I arrived a little late at night. Only a company of 6 people were on the restaurant. It went relatively quickly to get the menu and a carafe of water. Ordered Chilli Chicken with "madras" strength, with rice. No nan bread this time, when there was something late at night. Chilli Chicken was possible... More

Nice ambience. Not adventurous, but do all the classics well. Average naan, but good curries. Very friendly and relaxed service. On the expensive side.

I had dinner with a colleague one cold and rainy November evening here. The restaurant is located in two storeys, but the entrance floor was empty, so we climbed up the stairs to the actual restaurant. Service was ok and the restaurant was quite full for a weekday evening. We got papadam with blum and mango jams and olive relish... More

After a bit of traveling we felt like some Indian food and decided on Taj Mahal. The restaurant was busy for a week night and there was only one waitress who worked very hard but battled to cope. We ordered just one starter and two main courses. The lamb rogan josh was tangy and the Dahl makhani included more beans... More

We were in Ålesund, Norway on a Sunday night. It turns out many restaurants are not open on Sunday. We finally found the Taj Mahal restaurant and it turned out to be a real treat. Very good Indian food and the service was very good. It was within walking distance from the Scandic Hotel we were staying in.
