We ordered 2 rare Ribeye and 3 slow-cooked lamb shank. After a very long waiting they came with two well done Ribeye and one slow-cooked lamb. When we sent back the steaks, they appeared very disappoint about our request. They brought us two new steaks, (not really rare) but not an apology. Then we ordered two more lamb that they... More

Went for lunch, couldn't find our way into pub and thought it was closed but saw someone painting chairs who directed us to another door which is obvious once you know. Took a while for order to be taken from bar but food came quickly. Both had fish and chips but needed to be cooked longer as the batter was... More

Always worthwhile the round trip in a cab to eat here with my children. Great food although a little pricey but worth every penny. Even the 20 pound trip in the cab and back as is not accessible in the evening unless you drive. Have been here many a time and always been happy with the selection avaliable and politeness... More

Kept it simple Scampi and chips twice, we had tried this at the old gate at Canterbury it was out of this world, unfortunately the food was not very hot and the salad was limp, the chips were soggy and the scampi was... After having a good experience we returned, this time in a group of four The customer service was appalling and as we queued for food, a young waitress came over, shouting for the queue to move so they could get through, it was fair enough that the queue needed to move but it was the manner in which she shouted... Popped in and had the spiced lamb special ... well at 12.50 I expected more than two slices of fat .. overrated and poor .. avoid this dish and go for burger and chips as the staff can't cook anything more daring.

We went to the Beachy Head Inn tonight (Sunday) around 8.30pm. We stood at the Bar for around ten minutes or so. In that time there were three members of staff behind the Bar, and not one of them made eye contact, or told us that they would be with us shortly etc. Apparently it takes two waitresses to open... Ordered this dish and the crispy duck was over cooked, dry, rock hard and basically inedible. I sent this back and another one was sent out as a replacement, this one however did not contain one spring onion, as described in the menu, was wet and sloppy and basically just a pile of lettuce needless to say this one went...
