Tatty overall from the overflowing ashtrays outside the rear car park entrance to the carpet and furniture. Old fashioned out dated menu. This establishment is a prime example of somewhere living on past glories and management failing to reinvest and counting the days to their retirement.

My husband and I visited this restaurant on our wedding anniversay. We had been many years ago and really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the special chicken filled with /brie and wrapped in parma ham on a bed of tagliatelle. It was luke warm, pretty tasteless, not sign of any brie and a tiny piece of parma ham. The tagliatelle... More

I had monkfish curry which was watery and bland. The rice was undercooked and tasteless. There were 3 of us and we only had a main course and a drink and the bill was £65.00. I have visited this place a couple of times and it has never overwhelmed me. The first time was 8 years ago and the menu... More

What a lovely charming little public house , and what an experience for Sunday lunch with friends, arrived having made a booking the day before and was immediately shown to our table, the staff were really attentive and had additional knowledge to add to the ingredients. The food was excellent and was served timely and hot and there was good... More

Loved everything about the place from the front door to the hand cream in the toilets and everything in between! The food and staff were wonderful.

Visited after a long cold walk with friends and this place just hit the spot. It's got a nice cosy feel and the food was really tastey. The only thing I was disappointed with was that there was no pie on the menu - surely a must for a country pub?

I really have mixed feelings about this place. I've visited a couple of times and whilst the service, warm atmosphere and aesthetics are fabulous I always find the Sunday lunch let's it down. The starters we had today were fantastically presented, tasty and cooked perfectly. The homemade pavlova one of our group had was a real show stopper. But I'm... More

Three of us enjoyed a meal this evening. We had three different main meals. The food was excellent and the service great with the exception of not asking if we wanted any sauces with the food. Would definitely return.

Overpriced. Visits to comparable places are quite a bit cheaper. Now yes I know fish contains bones but a sea bass fillet had far too many in. I would have expected an establishment of this standing to take more care. Wilted spinach was completely raw with tough stalks. Food tasted quite bland. Only 3 very small new potatoes. I never... Booked table for a special anniversary. Stood at the restaurant entrance and was ignored for several minutes before being grunted at. We were eventually seated and RUSHED through 2 courses in 40 minutes!!!! Starters of deep fried brie arrived incredibly quickly and stone cold. Once those plates were cleared, the main was already on its way! My steak was ok... More
