We stopped in on our way south and it was great to find cafes still open in winter after 1600 on a Sunday. This proved a great choice for a welcome coffee and homemade Victoria sponge.

Small cafe, variety of seating, quick service with a smile. Cafe latte was ok but not great. Bought a large one which was too much.

The food in this cafe is unbelievable. The best pepper & coriander soup I've ever had; paninis to die for; and the cheesecake out of this world. Well done!

We stopped by before a walk round loch muick. This is a cute little cafe, but what surprised me was that it was counter service for placing your order then food was taken out to you, and you paid on departure, I would think a place this size may offer table service, but with that said, we ordered 2 toasties... Nice Cafe with good but limited menu. Nice staff and simple but clean atmosphere. Nothing really special but decent.

We were devastated when the cafe was closed after the flood last December and still out of action on our last visit in May. Now reopened and excellent for coffee or a simple lunch. Refurbished and better laid out. Continuing friendly service

I'm only guessing, but as a coffee shop in a tourist hot spot with at least half a dozen competitors you try...a bit harder? This is amateur 'play at keeping shop' stuff. We had the breakfast special - badly cooked and poor ingredients - so best to avoid. I hope the staff read this review and take it as honest... More

Lovely breakfast in a cosy spotlessly clean Coffee Shop. I would have preferred a long sausage instead of a square one, but that is only my personal choice. Friendly Service with a smile from the waitress. We will return again on our next break away for some homemade food and chocolates from the lovely display counter. Toilets are stylishly decorated... Whilst visiting Ballater we normally go to a nearby cafe but it was closed on the day we visited so we were grateful to find this one nearby. We had soup and panninis with two teas. Whilst everything was okay we weren't blown away to be honest. We couldn't decide if the soups we ordered were homemade or tinned, however... More

All our soups are made in the kitchen on the premises from fresh ingredients, and we serve salads, crisps etc. with all our lunches, except where a soup 'deal' is asked for, in which case, the soup replaces the side orders. More

Called in while driving along the river Dee, Staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. All of the cakes have been made freshly in the cafe and a very good choice. The cafe itself is only small but the seating is not squashed in, and plenty of room around the tables to move around. The cafe could be easily walked past... More
