We went today for lunch we phoned up 1 hour before and was lucky to get our table at such short notice. There is ample off road parking here, as we were walking from our car to the venue a very pleasant gentleman popped his head up over the fence welcoming us to the, The red house. On entering the... Enjoyed another brilliant Sunday roast at this family run restaurant in Highclere. Visited with our 8 and 4 year old and we had 3 roast beefs and 1 roast lamb. Just delicious! Meat cooked to perfection with a lovely selection of fresh home grown veg to accompany. Generous portions and amazingly priced for the quality provided. Attentive , friendly service... More

We are local and do frequent this pub. In our view, the best pub for miles. The food is excellent and the staff always friendly and efficient. We also had New Year's Eve here and it was a triumph! So well organised, fun, and good value. Again the food was gorgeous. I always bring my American friends here and they... More

We soon found out why this pub restaurant is so popular. The two young men serving behind the bar and waiting at table treated us as special guests, even though there were 50 diners booked for Sunday lunch. The food was reasonably priced, well cooked and of generous proportions, apart from the meat itself, which was on the skimpy side... More

Probably one of the best restaurants I have been to :) I have had the privilege in my years of working in the 5* hospitality industry, of working with the best Chefs in the world; as well as eating in the best restaurants of the 35 countries I have visited. The Red House is wonderful. Simon is one of the... More

We've lived around the corner from The Red House in Highclere for a few years and only got around to trying it out recently. The service is always smiley and friendly and as it's so close to home, it's become a favourite haunt on a Saturday evening. I am a vegetarian and so far, the veggie food has been terrific.... More

I have been going to the Red House for many years both during the week and for Sunday Lunch. It does not pretend to be anything but a very welcoming country pub with a excellent menu. It has 2 special nights - Tuesday, steak night and Thurday, fish night. Both are excellent. The Sunday lunch always has a choice of... More

We've lived locally for some 20 years and this place has had its ups and downs (more of the latter unfortunately) so we were very pleasantly surprised when we walked in on a Friday evening to find it buzzing, busy and full of people eating. It is new, modern pub food with a small but perfectly adequate menu. So pleased... More
