Food very mediocre but cheaply priced so I guess that's ok. Would not return again as there are better places to eat in Chepstow. Also the staff are pretty slack and only seem to attend to their regulars.

First visit for ages, known for years as a scruffy, noisy town pub, The Kings Head has cleaned up its act a lot. We visited on New Years Day for the £7.99 sunday lunch. The food was really good, vegetables not boiled to death, excellent beef and lots of good real gravy. Both the real ales were very drinkable, quite... More

This is a lovely warm welcoming little pub, but after seeing 3 managers come and go, Dan is doing a fantastic job of pulling it back together again providing an excellent service with a nice range of ales and ciders in a really friendly relaxed atmoshpere. Although my local, today is the 1st time Ive had food there, 3 roast... More

We had not been to the Kings Head for quite a few years and was surprised to see how clean it was, no sticky floors and a great lively atmosphere. Looks like there is good food now being served, the barman had great knowledge of the area and helped us massively in finding things to do during our short stay,... More

Great welcome. Gareth is looking after the kings head at the moment and doing a very good job. Warm friendly atmosphere. The pub has been refreshed and looks great. Good selection of beer and food. Also locally brewed ales. Spot on. I ha've really changed my opinion about the kings head. Give it a go.

We popped in on Saturday night having eaten at Mythos next door. We saw it had been renovated and decided to give it a try. The outside looks good but inside is dire. 1970's type tables and chairs, harsh bright lighting. There wasn't many people in and we can clearly see why. The "Grunge" Music was so loud you couldn't... Twice last month I popped in here for a beer or two and have fancied a bite to eat. Although too late for lunch and too early for dinner they twice managed to rustle up some good food for a hungry customer. Top customer service from this new team in a recently refreshed pub.Their beers are proudly local, brewed nearby... More

Dropped in for a bite to eat and realised the Sunday offering is now A carvery which was fantastic news! Stowford press on fraught and a nice selection of meats, fresh potatos and a great selection of veg for only £7.95! We will be back, booking is advisable as it gets very busy but worth every penny! Second visit here. Same friendly welcome and perfect pint - White Knight I think. Also, we were able to have lunch this time. The veg curry was spot on. There is a lively bar scene here (it was Saturday after all) which gives a good atmosphere but not if you are looking for peace and quiet. Oh, and Wales beat... More
