We were staying in Buxton with family and wanted somewhere for Sunday lunch. This was rated highly on here and was only a ten minute drive from our accommodation so we thought we'd try it. We booked on the Saturday and I would recommend doing...More

Went here today for lunch. Land lady lovely. Very chatty and a lot of knowledge about this place. Food was good apart from the ribeye steak. Very fatty and chewy. Asked for rare and arrived medium rare. Complementary bottle of wine given due to steak...More

A wet Sunday evening in late September, and the place was not never going to have the ambiance that it deserves, but the prices were good, my partners steak was cooked to perfection, and it was a good size, she was very happy. I chose...More

The only regret I have about the Knight's table is that we didn't visit the place sooner. I know the owners work around the clock preparing the homemade food, sleeping, serving, preparing, sleeping, serving and so on. The menu is varied and the food is...More

Just been on holiday around Buxton and Leek and surrounding areas. We found this pub in the moors at Flash. A real old pud dressed up as a Knights Castle. Superb food cooked extremely well and just like being at home. Huge portions and a...More

I just wanted to say that I had the exact same experience when I walked towards the pub with a friend. We didn't have any bicycles. We were on foot walking up the public path next to the A53 when we were told we were not allowed to come closer, no questions asking us how our day had been, did we fancy coming in for a drink or some dinner etc, you know normal inviting PR type activity. We then noticed there was a chain in place across the path that is a blatant health and safety hazard and a serious injury waiting to happen. We were told to walk on the A53 on a blind corner in the dark! Strangely enough we didn't go in for a drink as we felt unwelcome. Even if people are planning to pass on by you are missing the opportunity of letting potential customers walk past your windows and see inside, hopefully see a well decorated and hopefully (if you haven't told everyone to bugger off and die on the A53) a lively welcoming place they want to visit in future. You miss letting them see your opening times in the door/window and any notices of forthcoming offers or events. Such advertising is completely lost if people can't get near to see it.
