Since my last review I have observed that wine by the glass has become overpriced and food portions are a little smaller. Quality of food remains good but the menu is more limited. Somewhat disappointing.

Went for a meal, very dog friendly. Good food, good value. Great 60's music in the background, not too loud, just right. Will visit again.

Enjoy real ales and fine food in an historic setting. Hooknorton beer, what's not to like. In winter with a log fire it's a true haven. Step back in time and take a break from the hustle and bustle. You will not be disappointed.

I arranged to have a surprise 60th birthday meal on 13th July for my husband in the Globe Room, which meant that 11 of us, including 4 children, had the room to ourselves. I popped down in the afternoon and decorated the room with banners/balloons...More

We called in for a quick lunchtime drink and we were delighted with the place. We didn't eat, only went in for one drink but we had two! The interior is lovely with a very interesting fireplace and we were made to feel very welcome....More

We live in Banbury but haven't been to the Reindeer for quite a long time, as we've had the impression that it's good for beer, (what Hooky pub isn't!) but we've eaten better food elsewhere in the town and a few miles around. But last...More

I have dropped into this pub twice in the last month and the beer has been excellent on both occasions. I have tried to entice my wife and daughter to eat - but they felt the menu was too limited. It looks like good pub...More

What a lovely little find this place was. We arrived at 12.30 on a Saturday and got a table for 4 straight away. There were people already eating which gave us chance to have a nosy. We were all driving so weren't able to sample...More

Amazing staff, nice food just a shame about the amount of room there. Also we waited around 20 minutes for someone to take our dessert order.

Description
Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn is the oldest public house in Banbury. Situated halfway down Parsons Street, in the town centre no visit to Banbury is complete without a visit to Ye Olde Reine Deer. A Hook Norton Brewery pub ensures the offering of mainstay Hooky beers and a seasonal guest, its even the breweries 'flagship' pub. The pub itself is over 400 years old and steeped in history and local folk law. The Globe room a hidden gem to the rear of the property used to be a common room for travelling gentry and is still clad in the original oak panelling, an incredible find and talking point. We serve food 12pm-3pm, 6pm-9pm Monday-Saturday and 2pm-3pm on Sunday. Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn has always had an impeccable reputation for great pub food and extremely well kept ale. We always aim to meet and exceed these very high standards.
