Stoped here on a very wet rainy day prior to viewing a property in the area, and was not disappointed, really nice friendly staff, very nice sandwich and fries, cosy atmosphere. I liked it would go again for sure
Stumbled upon this lovely village country pub whilst out walking in Ashdown Forest.
First went in to ask for directions - bar staff very helpful. Returned that afternoon after we'd completed our walk. Again staff very helpful and attentive.

Our first visit to the excellent pub. We met friends for lunch, varied reasonable priced menu, food tasty & well presented. Very friendly staff, the pub is nice and cosy with an open fire. Will definitely return.
Disappointing evening had previously had a good evening here ,when I arrived the two bar staff were serving food and there was 6 people in the queue fo4 drinks ,no comment was mad3 by bar staff to say just coming or sorry .Food was ok...More
Visited for dinner on Saturday night and ended up joining in with a quiz that was taking place.
The food, fish and chips and a chicken dish, were absolutely amazing and I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Pleasant looking hostelry in the Ashdown Forest. Usual boutique rustic interior. Rather sullen barman and warm beer. Fly-blown and unexciting menus. Pub lacked atmosphere and it may have just been a bad day, but it’s hardly tempting to return.
