Bank holiday Sunday late pop in. Called in and asked if a table for 3 was available. Hopeful but the late spot was available. We snapped it up, amazing fat mussels and squid starters. All 3 went for the irresistible lamb main. Amazing, as a...More

This is a nice restaurant just up the hill from the harbour. The meal was enjoyable & the wine selection was reasonable. There were no views but at night it doesn't matter& felt friendly.

Waitresses seemed confused and stressed. Food not hot enough and not great. Given free deserts as compensation. Other diner also complained. Place is struggling and needs someone in charge and a new chefMore

Dear Swynford I fully agree that everyone is allowed an opinion, what I don't like are comments that are ill-founded, incorrect and absolutely uncalled for.... Due to the seasonal structure of Salcombe you will find that many licensed & retail businesses have new members of...More

This family run restaurant is one of our favourites that we come to every time we are in salcombe. The food is always delicious and the specials are always worth a try. Today I've had a pan fried duck breast, with black pudding bomboms, roasted...More

Hi valer1e143 It's so pleasing to hear that our staff really do look after our customers, even though we have a couple of new starters. Glad you enjoyed the food and don't forget to call back soon. Best Regards Jane, Phil & the team @No55

We had dinner at 55 last week and really enjoyed it (like we always do) was not very busy but it made no difference to us. We would of course recommend it to anyone who is visiting Salcombe in the evening

Dear Carol W Many thanks for taking the time to review your recent visit and we are very disappointed that you didn't enjoy it! Scoring your visit as a 1 based upon your comments is ridiculous, perhaps the following may give you a better understanding.......More

Personally I think it is not fair to criticise No55 at that time of year. I have eaten there in high season and the meals, staff, were excellent. It would hardly be logistically or financially viable to have a full on menu on the chance...More
