The food was pretty average pub grub, and that's what we went for so no complaints. We would go again

After a night of BBQ and wine, what is better than a Sunday lunch cooked by someone else? And when they cook beef this good you should not go elsewhere, a great feed at brilliant prices, you cannot go wrong

Excellent place for an inexpensive lunch, dined here today after walking the dogs along the Wye.We were made extremely welcome even though we were a little muddy. Had a really nice lasagne and a couple of beers all at a reasonable price. Fell on the pub by luck but thoroughly recommended.

We called in at the Man of Ross for a lunchtime tea and a sandwich. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The ham sandwich was enormous (one plate would have served two!) Sandwich was delicious, fresh and made to order. Other customers ordered Cod & Chips which were a huge plateful and again cooked to order. Looked fantastic! Overall... More

We stayed near this pub and were impressed with the sign outside stating homemade meals. So few pubs can say that! It is dog- friendly, too, so our dogs came with us. Very friendly atmosphere, great staff and the meal was excellent. We'll visit again when we're in the area.

Called into this gorgeous quirky little inn to receive a very warm welcome. Have visited Ross on numerous occasions over the years and have certainly missed a trick. Bar staff and locals were so friendly. Don't miss the opportunity of experiencing a real pub atmosphere.

First visit for food. The service was excellent. We did ask if the chips were real potatoes not frozen? The answer we had was the "chips are twice cooked". The chips were frozen and a huge disappointment however the rest of the food was fabulous. Eleven pieces of Scampi beautifully cooked and the wait staff were very attentive. Fresh haddock... More

Thank you very much for your feedback, all comments are appreciated. As the kitchen has only be reopened for a few weeks we are still experiencing teething problems on a few things but we are addressing the issue regarding the chips and this will be improved in the near future. More

Went for a roast dinner on 20/11/16 and can say as a resident of Ross-on-wye that it is the best. Newly taken over it is a lovely family pub with excellent food and service. Highly recommend the food and I will definitely be going back. Also excellent prices too.

Description
We are a traditional, local family-run pub in the idyllic countryside of Herefordshire. Over looking stunning views of the Wye Valley, the Man of Ross is the ideal place to go for a drink or delicious home cooked food. We have a vast drinks collection of local ciders and ales, lagers, wines, soft drinks and freshly brewed coffee. All of our food is as locally sourced as possible and home cooked to order. Our lunchtime menu offers light bites such as sandwiches and baguettes to homemade pub classics. The Chef specialises in fresh seafood dishes which vary weekly depending on what fresh fish is available. Also, locally sourced Hereford steaks are served daily such as a 16oz T-Bone and our 'Trio of Steaks'. Sunday Roast is served every week using only local meat and produce. Pop in to have a pleasant experience and warm by our cosy wood burner or relax outside in the sun admiring views of the River Wye during the summer season.
