I came for a drink with a colleague that was leaving. Place surrounded in fencing and building works in progress. Maybe this will fix some of the issues raised by other reviews.

One of my more disappointing visits to the area. Nice for a warm summers day and to eat outside. The atmosphere is somewhat pedestrian and pub grub rules

This place is cosy and the staff friendly, prices are reasonable too. It's standard pub food but it was cooked well and enjoyed by all of us.

After dropping my daughter off at Uni we decided to have lunch and this place was the nearest. I fully understand as a student pub it wasn't going to be grand. We sat down and yes as another reviewer pointed out the tables were sticky and again I can cope with that no issue. Before ordering I needed to use... More

This place is very popular with the local students. I don't mind a spit 'n' sawdust pub - but I hate sticky tables! Always very busy in an evening so maybe it's just me?

The young lady working as a waitress has such an awful attitude!! she's like Wednesday from the Adams family. The owners must have plenty of money to employ such a sort.... Will find somewhere more accommodating and friendly for something to eat as she clearly doesn't want you there.

Very quiet when we went but the food was served quickly and tasted nice good sized portions and not bad price staff were friendly a meal for 3 with drinks less than £25 much nicer than the hotel we were staying in for food.

Popped into our son's uni local last week! Good pub food which is great value for money and ample size portions, good beers available. Nice friendly staff. TIP - Take cash as there's 50p charge for using a credit card! We'll be back I'm sure when we're next visiting!

Thank Penny S
