After months of lockdown we were very excited about our mini get away in Norfolk. As ‘Brit Stops’ campervan owners we researched pubs near the coast and came across The Queen’s Head at Foulsham. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival and led through to the spacious, peaceful campsite behind this gem of a pub. 3 consecutive evenings we were treated to wholesome tasty pub grub; steak pie & chips, pork belly, pizza, fish and chips and rump steak & chips. Every meal was piping hot (important as we were sat outside due to Covid regulations) and all were generous portions and reasonably priced. A great selection of beers were on offer too. Covid regulations were carefully instigated, with an NHS check in on arrival and a one way system to the toilets. Fire pits were lit between the outside tables in the courtyard, massively appreciated in the cool evening temperatures. The staff were all incredibly attentive and very friendly. We strongly recommend this welcoming pub, only 16 miles drive to the coast, so a wonderful spot to explore the local area. Thank you Saon and all your staff for a wonderful little break!

We visited twice, first time just for a drink, pub was quiet, lady behind the bar was very friendly and chatty. Second time, two days later, was for a meal, fortunately we’d booked as the pub was heaving. They were obviously short of staff as there was only one person behind the bar and one young man serving the food, dirty glasses were filling the bar. It didn’t really bother us how busy it was, everyone was happy and enjoying life. Food was excellent and service was good, obviously a bit slow but that was fine, unfortunately our plates were cleared and nobody came back to see if we wanted dessert so after waiting a while we decided to leave. Food was good value for money and there was a varied choice on the menu as well as a specials board, pie night on a Wednesday night.

Just come back from 5 nights in our caravan at the Queen's. Had a great time even though the weather was crap, really friendly locals and great staff. Everyone had a smile and a chat. The pub itself serves some nice beers and proper home cooked food, ate there 3 nights out the 5 and they close in a Monday 😜. We were made to feel really welcome every time we went in, should we find our way to North Norfolk in the future I wouldn't hesitate in booking here again.

Lovely meal but service was terrible, told we had to be off the table by 8 this is fine by us , however once food was here and eaten they cleared everything away and then just ignored us. We even spoke to the waitress about pudding. We would have eaten the pudding out the back if they needed the table but by half 8 no one had asked for the table and the workers just glared at us until we left. So we paid and left there was no ask of more drinks or mention of us having a pudding. This climate good service is everything. Will not be in a rush to return

We joined friends for a much anticipated and long overdue birthday lunch. The surroundings were glorious, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the food….exceptional. A varied and reasonably priced menu we had difficulty choosing… One of our party had roasted butter nut squash, others had a perfectly cooked medium rare sirloin steak, fish and chips (wow), skate wing baked with capers, white wine and parsley sauce and a wonderful choice of home made pizzas. The food was wonderful and beautifully presented. The wine list was varied and well priced. The sun shone, the atmosphere was great…a little slice of paradise! Perfect 😊….thank you

We ate here twice during a holiday. The first night was a Wednesday, the pub was quiet with just a few tables, the Landlord was very friendly and attentive, the woodburner was burning, the food was very good, all very nice and cosy. The second time was the Friday night, this was like a totally different pub, there were 3 young girls behind the bar who told us to take a seat and then forgot about us. After quite a long time of waiting i went to the bar to be told someone would come over and take our order which they eventually did. The food took quite along time to come, however the meal was nice. We then waited as we wanted to order puddings, however again we were just left to sit there. I understand they were busy, but there were times when all the girls went for a smoke outside or were on their phones. Overall I would say I recommend this pub on a weeknight but not on a busy weekend.

We hadn’t booked in advance but The Queens Head accommodated us with a superb meal for a family of 5. It was a busy Halloween evening, they were offering pumpkin carving, fancy dress and live music. Unfortunately we did not join in with the festivities as the restaurant was already fully booked for the evening but we can highly recommend the beef and ale pie, chicken/beef burgers and homemade pizza. The daft dog bitter was a lovely pint too. Warm welcome, friendly staff and village pub atmosphere

We are pretty local to the site and came glamping for 3 nights in a large group, we occupied 5 of the 9 bell tents. We had 9 children and 9 adults in our party. The tents were fab, proper double beds and then camp beds for the children, lots of space and nicely furnished with colourful bedding, rugs etc. There were picnic benches and fire pits to use and a block or 3 toilets and showers. The showers all had hot water. We mostly lived on bbq food which one of our group had bought along. The pub staff were accommodating, they opened early for us to watch the Lioness’ game, we pre ordered dinner for one evening and the food was good. I think we may have slightly overwhelmed them one morning when we went in for breakfast as had not pre ordered and was quite a delay for food, but that’s our fault really for not giving them the heads up. Very friendly and approachable staff. Highly recommend for a little getaway for families or groups. We may well be back again!

Saw recommendations for this place online so we thought we would give it a try. We don't eat out often but I must admit we were very pleasantly surprised after a couple of rather poor experiences elsewhere. This is a nice, small, quiet village pub with a relaxing/laid back atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive but not too overboard like some places can be. We were seated straight away and once we had ordered our food it arrived within 15 minutes. Myself and my partner had the rump and sirloin steaks which were very nice and my 4 year old had chips, beans and fish fingers. All the food was delicious, especially the steak and chips (the steaks were perfectly cooked and the chips were soft inside and crispy on the outside as they should be) and the portion sizes were very generous for the money. We also had desert each which was two brownies and a syrup sponge - again delicious, With three drinks, three meals and three deserts it cost us £60 in total which is reasonable for a pub meal these days, especially compared to other pubs in the area which are more expensive. We will definitely recommend to friends and family and would happily return again.

My family were visiting from the other side of the country - five of us in total. The table was booked for 6pm. I sat at the table that was not yet set at 6pm. At 6.05pm as she was setting the table I was asked about the remaining group. I mentioned they would be around 5 more minutes. The landlady was not happy. From then on, we felt rushed and unwelcome. This was seemingly due to a larger group of 10 arriving at 6.30pm (which by my calculation, even with the rest of my group arrive at 6.10pm, still leaves 20 minutes). There was also comment about the other group receiving their order 'before us which would mean we'd have to wait a long time' - this was still in response to me saying they'll be 5 more minutes at 6.05pm - slight overreaction. As soon as the rest of my group arrived, before they had time to sit down properly, she demanded our order, we weren't allowed to order drinks until after. We weren't provided a couple of minutes to settle in and look properly at the menu. My parents are elderly, and this was stressful. Furthermore, the larger group did not all arrive on time. As with my party, half turned up just after 6.30pm and the others around 10 minutes later, possibly more. They were allowed to order drinks before ordering. With this in mind, before receiving the food, the experience was not very warm or welcoming. In terms of the food, the opinion was split. I had the veggie chilli, which was underwhelming. Though other meals looked very nice and were larger sized portions. The place looks lovely, but not great for parking, we both had to park on the street as the small car park was full. It's a local pub for local people, not really for outsiders. She clearly had good rapport with the locals, but certainly not with us. When she wanted to get past with a high chair, she didn't ask the local to move their bar seat in, she asked my sister instead. This really cemented that we were the ones that were out of place. We will not be returning.

What a find!! The only pub in the village and somewhat deceiving from the outside. The staff are ver welcoming but the hidden gem is the food, We had the Beef Shin (delicious) Gammon Steak (equally as delicious) and the kids fish & chips. We have eaten all over the world and dare I say this place puts such emphasis on home cooked food with such a relaxed setting and staff. Thank you!

I had a lovely welcome when I arrived. I explained my friend would be joining me. She was late and they tried to help me locate her. They held the table for us. Whilst I was there on my own, I was made to feel very welcome. When my friend arrived we ordered. I had the sausage and mash and my friend the steak & kidney pie. The meals came with 6 different fresh veg, the sausages were tasty and the mash creamy. The pie was like she used to have, tender steak and plenty of kidney. We found room for a sticky toffee pudding, moist and tasty. We loved our experience here, the whole package. The staff were all so very friendly and the locals too. We'll definitely go back

Great friendly pub .. true village hub....warm, welcoming and Edith is a force to be reckoned with! Ale & steak pie was not short of steak and the pastry was amazing! Stuffed squash with goats cheese was divine...left me stuffed! Can't wait to return 😀 !

Stayed in the tents for one night and enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was very cozy and perfect for a lovely evening away. the tents were lovely, however there were a few marks on the bed sheets, but not too much of a big deal. We also had dinner and breakfast at the pub which was good. breakfast was superb and the only fault of the dinner was the limited menu in comparison to the online one (still a really enjoyable meal). staff were really nice and we would definitely recommend if you’re looking for an affordable night or two away 😁
