We fell over the New Inn whilst staying in the area. Whilst it is quite small, with plenty of locals in attendance, it never felt crowded. Everyone seemed friendly, from the customers to the landlady. Food was very good, with quite large portions, and was priced about right for what you get. Overall, a decent pub, friendly, clean and good... More

We found this by chance on Friday as we were staying at the forestry commission log cabins nearby. Saw the sign near the entrance to the park and decided to explore. Very glad we did. Nice real ale and a log burner sold it to us, so we booked for Sunday lunch. (Friendly landlady told us we needed to book... More

Booked here when staying at Forest holidays. Visited on our 4 year anniversary and food was good steaks are very good and well cooked. Lacks atmosphere and locals can be a bit off putting as they are loud and rude in their conversations but this is not something the staff can help. Food prices a bit high for pub food,... More

Me and my friend visited here for Sunday lunch . The service behind the bar was friendly and the waitresses were almost as friendly! The food came out quickly and was beautiful! The gravy was extremely tasty. Maybe adding cauliflower cheese to the veg variety would be a bonus as that's our faviroute so would have been even happier then.... More

We booked a table for 2pm for 8 adults and 2 children weeks in advance for the restaurant. When we arrived at 1.55pm we were told our table wasn't ready yet, we waited patiently and at 2.15pm a waitress started setting out a table in the bar area. We were told that because another party had arrived 30 minutes late,... More

We visited here three times in our week's holiday, being the nearest pub to our accommodation but also enjoying the wholesome food, good beer and the fact that they allowed our dog in. The pub was clean and friendly. It was always busy, which is a good sign and best to ring and book a table. If we come back... More

Great boozer, perfect as a holiday base. The New Inn kept a great pint and the food looked like very good pub food. Will definitely re - visit.

As regulars to the Forest Holiday cabins (five minutes walk up the road) we generally come here for a spot of lunch before check in. We love it! It's recommended you book just in case they're super busy but if you just happen to stumble into the pub, you should hopefully be accommodated :-) lovely blonde lady and little brunette... More
