A busy April evening before Easter. We were very impressed by the menu and Specials available. Chef certainly knows how to cook a steak, however you like it! The salmon en croute was fabulous and they create some very interesting starters! Well done, hope to be back soon. Good selection of beers too! Very friendly service, real Country Pub with... More

I had the pork and it was delicious and served in a timely fashion despite the pub being very busy. Well worth a visit.

Came here with a Groupon voucher-steak deal. Excellent customer service from very attentive and welcoming staff who were polite and friendly. The main course -steak with double cooked chips and vegetables were delicious. Couldn't fault this. The pudding was pure indulgence..chocolate and hazelnut brownie with ice cream...absolutely delicious. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because of the... More

Met old friends there who have 2 kids and a dog. Lovely setting, warm pub, good drinks list. Vegetarian option was stew or falafel burger but everyone found something they liked. Good car parking facilities. I wanted a pub off the motorway that was dog friendly but still felt like an old fashioned pub. Loved it.

We all had a nice meal here (lamb and mint pie, burgers and a veggie sharing platter) but £17 seemed very pricey for the starter sharing platter for three when there wasn't that much food on it. The staff were friendly but unfortunately as we were seated round a table in a separate section, near the back of the coffee... More

We dined as a family of six for Sunday lunch, I chose beef while two chose lamb and the remainder chicken. All of the served items where superb with ample portions served piping hot, only down side the service was a little slow but the food was well worth the wait, would reccomend to anyone wishing a great traditional Sunday... Ate here with a Groupon voucher for a rib eye steak. The pub itself is quite nice and the service was good. The meal came on hot plates which is a bonus but the steaks were disappointingly chewy. Would not go back.

This was our first visit to the Bull. On arriving we were greeted by a warm smile from a staff member. The pub was not too busy when we arrived but filled up gradually while we were there. The two ladies on duty were very helpful, friendly & efficient. We enjoyed our meals except for the chips. They had an... More

Want old world charm, rustic building in a local theme , then this is the place for you.... Open fires crackling in the hearth and rough stone walls all combine to provide a super ambience for your meal.... Excellent menu choice and full portions best describes the food, with a home cooked feel and delicious too....

Description
Where are we? Welcome to The Bull Inn in the peaceful village of Hinton. which lies only 20 minutes from the centres of both Bath and Bristol and less than 5 minutes away from Junction 18 of the M4. About The Bull This ancient stone built building dates back to the 17th century. In its time it has been an Inn, a farm and a dairy. Like all buildings of this age it also has it's fair share of ghosts. Be always on the lookout for the lady in grey! About the food We Love to serve Traditional British Pub food and we take great pride in making the dishes the best they can be and still great value for money! We also have a Specials board which changes weekly and can be a real treat! We believe that to achieve great food you only need to look on your doorstep. So with that in mind we have chosen where possible to source our ingredients from local suppliers who share the same passion for quality as we do. Where possible we use our home grown seasonal fruit, herbs and vegetables from our own allotment to the rear of the pub. Our friendly and cheeky gardener Rockie does an incredible job for us and keeps everything in order - if you have a spare minute pop round to have a look or a chat, if only to give him a chance for a breather. Our butchers are Barlett and Sons of Bath and Bristol Meat Trader, they both deal in locally sourced, succulent, farm assured meats ensuring their products are of the best quality. All of their meat is prepared using traditional butcher methods and they mature their beef for over 21 days to ensure we get the most tender and succulent steak possible. As well as providing lamb, pork and bacon they also manufacture their own sausages on the premises providing us with the best quality sausages in the area. Our Fishmonger Wing of St. Mawes(Cornwall) is a small family run company with over 30years experience. We source all our fish from mussels, cod, scallops, plaice, sole, prawns and lobsters from Wing daily. They care passionately about sustainable sourcing and deliver to us every night after the fish is caught in the morning. Our eggs are from our 18 lovely Hens which can be found to the rear of the pub, they are lovely characters and lay some exceptional eggs for our Ham, Egg and Chips! When we can't source produce from our garden we use A-DAVID of Bristol which has over 50 years experience. They care as passionately as us about the provenance and locality of produce and over the years has amassed a large number of local growers who are incredibly passionate and dedicated to what they do. We use Marshfield Farm ice cream which is truly amazing luxury ice cream and sorbet. They are just 5minutes up the road so you can't get more local than that. We love our little customers just as much as our fully grown ones! So with that in mind we have created a children's menu that is full of tasty dishes just like the main menu. If your child would like something that's not on the menu please just ask and we will do our very best to do it for you! How lucky we are to have such great local suppliers and producers to share with you. We hope you will think our efforts to source the best produce is worthwhile. About the beer As a Wadworth pub we serve all the usual brews, including 6X, Henry's and we always have a guest on which changes weekly. We also stock draught Heineken, Amstel, Thatchers Gold, Stowford Press and Corvus Stout. About the wine We have a substantial selection of wines by the glass. If you are uncertain of your choice please ask the bar staff for a sample taste. We also have a quality range of classical wines which are available by the bottle. Allergies Some foods & ingredients can cause an allergic reaction. If you suffer from a food allergy, please inform a member of staff.
